GORMAN - The Crossroads Treatment Center is due to open Sept. 15 in the former Blackwell Hospital building. The hospital closed in 1986.

The center will be a residential program for boys ages 11-17 with alcohol and drug dependency problems, providing a highly structured and individualized program.

The length of stay in the center is expected to be 6-9 months. The facility will house up to 32 boys, with three house parents living at the center.

Director Jerry Gaiter will bring some staff from other Crossroads centers in Texas and will also be hiring 30-40 local people. Applications will be accepted beginning Friday by calling (254) 734-2363.
