Sunday, September 27, 1998 Big Country Business Notes BRECKENRIDGE -- Dr. Aizaz Verdag, a native of Pakistan, will
open her medical practice in Breckenridge in November after receiving
her Texas medical license, said Stephens Memorial Hospital administrator
James Reese. Verdag is currently working as a third-year chief resident
in the primary care program of Mount Sinai Medical Services at
Elmhurst Hospital in New York City. She will have her family practice
in the clinic building adjacent to the hospital. Reese said the new doctor has significant experience in obstetrics
and gynecology and is board certified in internal medicine. She
was a teaching assistant at a medical school in Pakistan before
moving to New York. Reese also announced that two other physicians have agreed
to practice in Breckenridge, one coming in each of the next two
years. Dr. Cindy Perry, currently a third-year resident, who will
specialize in internal medicine and have a family practice will
move here in 1999 and Dr. Patrick Partin will come in the year
2000. Partin is a second year resident. He will have a family practice
speciality certification and will also practice obstetrics and
gynecology. BROWNWOOD -- The fourth annual Brownwood Area Business Showcase
will be held from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday at the Brownwood Coliseum. More than 70 business owners and sponsors will display their
products and services, according to Carter Sharpe, chamber president.
The showcase is free and open to the public. BROWNWOOD -- Jerry Ramirez, director of Catch 22 Youth Ranch,
Inc., was named Brown County's 1998 Sam Walton Business Leader
Award winner.
