Big Country Business Notes

BROWNWOOD -- Maurice Crouse has been named branch manager of the Trans Texas Southwest Credit Union here. He comes to Brownwood from Andrews and has 20 years of banking experience.

EASTLAND -- Ragena's Attic, a resale and consignment shop for clothing, is now open at 609 Sadosa. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone number is 629-3992.

GOLDTHWAITE -- June Roberts has retired as cashier after 41 years with Mills County State Bank.

GOLDTHWAITE -- Gingham Goose Arts and Crafts, a consignment store, has opened at 1110 Fisher in the former R&W Floor Covering building. Sonny and Pat Taylor are owners and Bobbie Davis is manager.

ROSCOE -- The Nolan County Farm Bureau office has moved into its new location at 800 Main Street here.

SANTA ANNA -- Santa Anna's city secretary, Alys Pelton, was appointed president of the Bluebonnet Chapter of the Texas municipal Clerks Association during a recent meeting in Bronte.

Other officers include Abilene City Secretary Jo Moore, vice president; Breckenridge City Secretary Linda Knight, secretary; Robert Lee City Secretary Kay Torres, treasurer; and Tuscola City Secretary Billie Pearce, historian.

Pelton has been city secretary here for nearly 12 years. She was salutatorian of her 1986 graduating class at Santa Anna High School and also of her class at Central Texas Commercial College in Brownwood.

SNYDER -- Hargrove Crop Insurance has moved to a new location at 2701 College Ave., south of Snyder Savings and Loan. The phone number remains 573-8975.

STAMFORD -- Mr. G's is now open at 601 N. Swenson. Gary Aguilar is general manager and Lolly Flores is assistant manager.

EASTLAND -- Ann Folsom, a school-teacher-turned-businesswoman, has been appointed executive director of the Eastland Chamber of Commerce by chamber directors.

An Eastland County native, Folsom owns Ann Folsum Interiors. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Haun.
