Wednesday, November 25, 1998 RRC sets gas production allowables By SCOTT SCHOLTEN Staff Writer The Railroad Commission of Texas set gas production allowables
for prorated fields at 47,504,271 MCF, which the Commission projects
to be market demand. The new allowable is a decrease of 3,471,788 MCF from Dec.
1997 production, which was 50,976,059. The Commission used historical
production figures from Dec. 1997, producer forecasts for Dec.
1998 demand and adjusted the figures to account for factors such
as well capability, whether there are new wells in a filed and
how many. Texas natural gas in storage reported by the Commission for
Oct. 1998 is 326,353,206 MCF compared to 251,835,710 MCF in Oct.
1997. November's on hand estimate is 323,778,418. Commissioners said imported crude and petroleum products averaged
10.25 million barrels per day for Oct. 1998, an increase of 5
percent over Oct. 1997. Preliminary statewide production was reported at 35,772 barrels
of crude and 377,508,549 MCF gas for Sept. 1998. Totals do not
include casinghead gas or condensate, the Commission said. Separately, the next statewide hearing is scheduled for Monday,
