Tuesday, December 29, 1998 Raytheon expects $1.1 billion Patriot system
contract Raytheon Co. said it expects to receive a $1.1 billion order
before the end of the year for work on the Patriot Air Defense
System, including six batteries. The Lexington, Mass.-based company
said it also anticipates receiving two additional Patriot contracts
before the end of the year, both from the U.S. Army. One contract, valued at $65 million, is for radar enhancement
and classification. The second contract, which could be worth
$62 million, is for the Remote Launch/Communications Enhancement
upgrade program.
