Cowboys re-sign cornerback Wendell Davis
DALLAS (AP) -- The Dallas Cowboys announced today they've
re-signed cornerback Wendell Davis to a one-year contract.
The team did not disclose details of the deal.
Davis served as back-up at both right and left cornerback
in 1997. He finished the season with four tackles and seven special
teams tackles.
He also forced a fumble against the Chicago Bears on Sept.
28 and filled in for an injured Kevin Smith during the second
half of the game.
The Cowboys took Davis during the sixth round of the 1996
draft, and he was the 207th pick overall. He finished sixth on
the team in special teams tackles with 12 as a rookie.
