Cowboys to play Mexico City exhibition for sixth year

IRVING, Texas (AP) -- The Dallas Cowboys will play a preseason game in Mexico City for the sixth year since 1992, the team said Tuesday in releasing its 1998 exhibition schedule.

The Cowboys will play the New England Patriots in Mexico City at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17. The game will be televised on ABC.

The Cowboys will play the first two exhibitions at Texas Stadium -- against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, Aug.1, and against the Oakland Raiders on Saturday, Aug. 8.

The 1998 preseason schedule:

-- Aug. 1, Seattle, 8 p.m. (local television)

-- Aug 8, Oakland, 8 p.m. (local television)

-- Aug. 17, New England at Mexico City, 7 p.m. (ABC)

-- Aug. 22, at St. Louis, 7 p.m. (local television)

-- Aug 27, at Jacksonville, 7 p.m. (CBS)
