Internet provides plenty of resources on crash,
plane
By DOUG WILLIAMSON / Abilene Reporter-News
The Internet provides many resources about the crash, Dyess
Air Force Base and the B-1B bomber itself.
-- The Reporter-News World Wide Web site -- Reporter OnLine
-- has extensive coverage of the crash.
"Within 30 minutes of the time the plane went down, we
had the word on the Internet," said Danny Reagan, director
of new media/technology at the paper. The pages will be updated.
The B-1 crash page is at http://texnews.com/1998/local/b-oneindex.html/.
-- The Evansville (Ind.) Courier is the closest major newspaper.
The paper will have coverage on its website at http://www.evansville.net/.
-- Dyess Air Force Base maintains an Internet home at http://www.dyess.af.mil/public/index.htm/.
-- The Air Combat Command's web presence is at http://www.acc.af.mil/.
The B-1s are under the umbrella of ACC's operations.
-- Official Air Force information on the B-1B bomber is housed
at http://www.af.mil:80/news/factsheets/B_1B_Lancer.html/.
-- Boeing has info at http://www.boeing.com/defense-space/military/b1-lancer/.
-- An encyclopedia entry on the B-1 may be found at http://207.2.56.10/encyclopedia/aviation/rpib1b.html/.
-- A fan of the B-1 has posted several pages in honor of the
aircraft at http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Hanger/3591/.
-- If you are looking for photographs of the bomber, look to
http://www.spd.aetc.af.mil/
for a dozen of the best shots around.
-- Probably the best single shot of a B-1 is at http://www-home.calumet.yorku.ca/mdonalds/www/b1_1powr.htm/.
It is swooping down over a lake.
