Cecil Roberts
Cecil L. Roberts, 49, died Sunday at an Abilene medical facility.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Abilene
State School Cemetery with Mark Hewitt officiating, assisted by
Ray Bingham and directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Roberts was born in Abilene, where he lived all his life.
He was a resident of Abilene State School.
Survivors include his mother, Alice Roberts of Abilene; four
brothers, James Roberts and Luther Roberts, both of Abilene, Marvin
Roberts of Lawton, Okla., and Tomy Roberts of Midland; one sister,
Evelyn Ivey of Abilene; and several other relatives.
George Michael 'Mickey' Harrell
DALLAS - George Michael "Mickey" Harrell, 57, died
Thursday at a Dallas hospital.
Graveside services were Saturday at Restland Memorial Park
with the Rev. Ronald Morgan officiating, directed by Restland
Funeral Home.
Mr. Harrell was born in Dallas.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Harrell of Carrollton; two
daughters, Lisa Michele Chretien of Laguna Beach, Calif., and
Marie of Carrollton; one son, J. Michael Harrell of Abilene; one
brother, Richard Harrell; two grandchildren and three nieces.

Robert 'Sock' Edwards
TUSCOLA - Robert "Sock" Edwards, 70, died Sunday
at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with
the Rev. T.C. Melton officiating. Burial will be in Tuscola Cemetery,
directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home.
Mr. Edwards was born in Content in Runnels County and had lived
in Tuscola since 1960. He owned service stations in Lawn and Tuscola
and worked in the oil fields. He worked in Civil Service at Dyess
Air Force Base for 18 years, retiring in 1984. He was an Army
veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of First Baptist
Church. He married Donna Griffith in 1959 in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife of Tuscola; one daughter, Ann Lynette
Sheffield of Merkel; two sons, Robert Dewayne Edwards of Lawn
and Eddie Doyle Edwards of Abilene; one sister, Hazel Davis of
Abilene; two brothers, Billie Edwards of Lake Coleman and Ross
Edwards of San Angelo; and four grandchildren.

Connie Herring
STEPHENVILLE - Connie Herring, 92, died Sunday at a local nursing
home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Stephenville Funeral Home
Chapel with Richard Blythe and Dr. Richard Chaffin officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Herring was born in Duffau and lived in Stephenville most
of her life. She taught school in Quitaque, Gasoline, Indian Creek
and Johnsville for 11 years. She was a homemaker and a member
of Hillcrest Church of Christ. She married Hugh Herring in 1927
in Stephenville; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Chaffin of Cross
Plains, Ruth Blanton of San Antonio and Joy Cooper of Dallas;
10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Terry Mooney
BROWNWOOD - Terry Mooney, 36, died Sunday in Loraine.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Fairview
Cemetery in Grosvenor, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Mooney was born in Loraine and had lived in Brownwood since
1962. He worked for 3M.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce Mooney of Brownwood; one
brother, Lou Roberts of Brownwood; one sister, Carol Mooney of
Arlington; and many other relatives.
Doris Lucille Hardin
SEYMOUR - Doris Lucille Hardin, 80, died Monday at a Munday
nursing home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church
with the Rev. Glenn Shock officiating. Burial will be in Vera
Cemetery in Vera, directed by Archer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hardin was a lifetime resident of Vera before moving to
Seymour in 1981. She was a member of First Baptist Church and
Senior Choir, Seymour Hospital Auxiliary Pink Ladies. She married
Tom Hardin in 1934; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Ray Lynn Hardin of Munday, Billy
Hardin of Seymour and Keith Hardin of Graham; three sisters, Merlyn
Burgess of Arizona, Willie Marie Hall of Tennessee and Mary Ann
Haston of San Antonio; two brothers, Roy Finis McGuire of London,
Tex., and Wade McGuire of Lubbock; four grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Betty Odom
CISCO - Betty E. Odom, 80, died Monday at an Eastland nursing
home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist
Church with the Rev. Gary Turner officiating. Burial will be in
Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.
Mrs. Odom was born in Jayton and graduated from Texas Woman's
University in Denton. She did postgraduate studies at Hardin-Simmons
University and was a retired home economics teacher. She was a
member of two bridge clubs and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Olin Odom III of Cisco and Dr.
F. Clark Odom of Dallas; three sisters, Faye Siddall of Freeport,
Lucile Smartt of Cisco and Reda Hatten of Portales, N.M.; six
grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Building
Fund, Cisco; or to the donor's favorite charity.
Trophie Rae Green
CISCO - Trophie Rae Green, 81, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist
Church with the Rev. Gary Turner officiating. Burial will be in
Eastland Cemetery in Eastland, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.
Mrs. Green was born in Ranger and was a homemaker and a member
of First United Methodist Church. She married Chester Green in
1954 in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Survivors include her husband, of Cisco; one daughter, Elizabeth
Ann Harrison of Cisco; one son, Cecil Ray Sylvester of Cisco;
one stepdaughter, Nita Kerlee of Malakoff; one stepson, Joseph
Green of New Orleans; one brother, Monte Todd of Boyd; four sisters,
Mary Jane Hale of Deer Park, Jimmie Beth Harrison of Cross Plains,
Jean Griffith of Eastland, and Connie Johnstone of Pearland; five
grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren
and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Eugene 'Gene' Kinser
CISCO - Eugene "Gene" Kinser, 57, a member of the
Cisco City Council, died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at I-20 Church of Christ with
Larry Fitzgerald officiating, assisted by Shane Hunt and Dan Cox.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Kimbrough Funeral
Home.
Mr. Kinser was born in Sipe Springs and graduated from Scranton
High School, Cisco Junior College and Abilene Christian University.
He was employed by Texas State Teacher Association for several
years and had taught at Scranton, Albany, Odessa, Ector County
and Cisco high schools. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He married Rhonda Faye Fraiser in 1966 in Cisco; she preceded
him in death.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Kinser of Dallas; one daughter,
Gina Taylor of Cisco; his mother, Hope Kinser of Cisco; two sisters,
Margaret Starr of Anson and Berniece Hunt of Cisco; and nieces
and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American
Diabetes Association or to the Gene Kinser Memorial Scholarship
Fund, First National Bank, Cisco.
Ola Perkins
COLEMAN - Ola F. Perkins, 89, died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home
Chapel. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mrs. Perkins was born in Gonzales County and grew up and attended
school in Lawn and Doole. She sold Stanley and Avon products for
many years. She was a homemaker and a member of Elm Street Church
of Christ. She married William Perkins in 1933 in Millersview;
he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, William Carrell Perkins of Hugo,
Okla., Floyd Thomas Perkins of Burleson and Olen Leroy Perkins
of Lubbock; one brother, Randolph Jewell of San Angelo; two sisters,
Ellen Stovall and Vivien Bozeman, both of Coleman; nine grandchildren
and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Lubbock Children's Home or Tipton's
Children's Home.
Chester Colbert
BROWNWOOD - Chester H. Colbert, 88, former owner-operator of
Colbert Fence Co., died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rocky Creek
Cemetery with Dr. Ron Cook and the Rev. Alan Wallace officiating,
directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Colbert was born in Norton and had lived in Brownwood for
31 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married
Wilma Grace Loyd in Memphis, Tex., in 1929.
Survivors include his wife of Brownwood; one son, Harold Loyd
Colbert of Oceanside, Calif.; one daughter, Joyce Colbert of Brownwood;
two brothers, John Phillip Colbert of Amarillo and Cleve Colbert
of Dallas; one sister, Billie Jean Clark of Conway, Ark.; three
grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. today.

SNYDER - Stella Camille Jackson, 24, died Sunday in a traffic
accident between Roscoe and Hermleigh. Services will be at 10
a.m. Wednesday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
