Elsie Lou Martin
Elsie Lou Martin, 79, died May 2 in rural
Taylor County.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in
Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest with the Revs. Scott Mayer,
Rosemary P. Thomas and Roderick L. Reinecke officiating. Burial
will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Anson, directed by Elliott-Hamil
Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Martin was born in Asheville, N.C.,
and graduated from Edgewood High School in Pennsylvania, Baker
University in Kansas and the University of Pittsburgh. She married
Edward H. Martin in 1948 in Galveston and was a homemaker. She
moved to Abilene 35 years ago from Philadelphia and was a volunteer
at the Thrift House. She was a member of Episcopal of the Heavenly
Rest.
Survivors include one son, Hale Martin
of Littleton, Colo.; three daughters, Louise Martin Kreis of De
Soto, Jeanne Martin of Marin County, Calif., and Marianne Martin
Puccia of Terre Haute, Ind.; her stepmother, Esther Reinecke of
Topeka, Kan.; three brothers, Paul S. Reinecke of Columbia, S.C.,
Rod Reinecke of Burlington, N.C., and John Reinecke of Starkville,
Miss.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today
in the funeral home.
Dr. Edward Martin
Dr. Edward H. Martin, 79, co-founder of
the Abilene Diagnostic Clinic in 1969, died May 2 in rural Taylor
County.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in
Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest with the Revs. Scott Mayer,
Rosemary P. Thomas and Roderick L. Reinecke officiating. Burial

Dr. Martin was born in Waco and graduated
from Anson High School and the University of Texas. He earned
a doctorate of medicine from the U.T. Medical Branch in Galveston
and was a physician in Spur for many years. He served with the
U.S. Army and married Elsie Louise Reinecke in 1948 in Galveston.
He moved to Abilene 35 years ago from Pennsylvania and was an
internist and cardiologist. He retired from practice about two
years ago. He was a member of the Taylor-Jones-Haskell County
Medical Society, American Medical Association and Episcopal Church
of the Heavenly Rest.
Survivors include one son, Hale Martin
of Littleton, Colo.; three daughters, Louise Martin Kreis of De
Soto, Jeanne Martin of Marin County, Calif., and Marianne Martin
Puccia of Terre Haute, Ind.; and seven grandchildren.

Mary Anderson
Mary Anderson, 81, a resident of the Abilene
State School, died Sunday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Thursday in Abilene State School Cemetery with Chaplain Ray Bingham
officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Miss Anderson was born in Amarillo and
had lived at the Abilene State School since 1944.
Survivors include two sisters, Merle Ayers
and Ruth Brown, both of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews.
Patricia Watson
KINGSTON, Okla. -- Patricia Marie Watson,
49, mother of an Abilene resident, died Monday in a Denison hospital
after an illness.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m.
today in Wells Valley Cemetery in Wapanucka, Okla. with Jim Pitts
officiating, directed by Watts Funeral Home of Madill, Okla.
Ms. Watson was born in Wapanucka, Okla.,
and grew up in Wapanucka and Fort Worth. She moved to Kingston
six years ago and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Robert L. Shaw
of Abilene; two daughters, Tracey Shaw-Salge of Fort Worth and
Lisa Marie Magana of Kingston; her mother, Juanita Watson of Kingston;
two brothers, Johnny Miller of Van Buren, Ark., and Shondean Goscinski
of Sallisaw, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
H. Arnold Reynolds
SNYDER -- H. Arnold Reynolds, 83, died
Tuesday in an Abilene hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in
Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Homer Anderson officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Reynolds was born in Crosbyton, where
he married Polly Proctor in 1933, and was a retired civil service
employee. He moved to Snyder in 1992 from Lytle.
Survivors include his wife, of Snyder;
two daughters, Sue Lyon of Snyder and Betty Starr of Abilene;
one son, Jerry Reynolds of Smyrna, Ga.; one brother, Basil Reynolds
of Athens, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Naoma Lockaby
BAIRD -- Naoma Lockaby, 83, died Monday
in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday
in Ross Cemetery Annex with the Rev. Ricky Carstensen officiating,
directed by Parker Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lockaby was born in Alma, Okla.,
and married Charlie Floyd Lockaby in 1933. She was a homemaker
and moved to Texas in 1975 from Roswell, N.M., and Baird in 1980.
She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce
Blevins of Clyde and Jerlene Jeffcoat of Whitney; four sons, Floyd
E. Lockaby of Roswell, N.M., Loyd L. Lockaby of Denton Valley,
Jack D. Lockaby of Alvarado and Fred D. Lockaby of Clyde; 26 grandchildren;
44 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Edith Iona Dickie
COMANCHE -- Edith Iona Dickie, 83, died
Tuesday in a De Leon nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m.
Thursday in Board Church Cemetery with Gerald Burns officiating,
directed by Hall & Sons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dickie was born in Hasse and was
self-employed in the grocery business and ladies ready-to-wear
in Baghdad, Ariz. until retiring. She was a member of Order of
the Eastern Star. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Ernest
R. Dickie.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol
J. Turner of Baghdad, Ariz.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today
in the funeral home.
Cassie Knight
WINTERS -- Cassie Knight, 84, died Tuesday
in a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Winters
First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Shoemake officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, directed by Winters Funeral
Home.
Mrs. Knight was born in Bartlesville,
Okla., and was a homemaker. She moved to Hamlin in 1934 and Winters
in 1961. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the
widow of C.R. Knight, whom she married in 1931 in Claremore, Okla.
Survivors include two sons, Cloyd Knight
Jr. of Arlington and Charles Knight of LaPorte; four daughters,
Ruby Morrison of Winters, Sandy Banner of Dryden, Becky Long of
Goldthwaite and Betty Pierce of Shamrock; one sister, Dorothy
Axsom of Bartlesville, Okla.; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.

Lawrence C. "Larry" Labarthe,
76, of Dallas, died Tuesday at his home. Services are pending

in a Lubbock hospital. Services are pending with Wright-Colonial

Boucher, 88, died Tuesday in a local nursing home. Services will
be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Gustine First Baptist Church, directed

SNYDER -- Homer Lynn Reed, 65, died recently
at his home after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be
at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso,
directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Andemio Jara "A.J." Mendez
BIG SPRING -- Andemio Jara "A.J."
Mendez, 88, died Saturday in San Antonio. Rosary will be said
at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Myers & Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

HERMLEIGH -- Ollie Richardson, 93, died
Monday in a Snyder hospital. Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday
in Trinity United Methodist Church, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale
