Ingrid Anita Rodriguez

Ingrid Anita Rodriguez, 51, died Wednesday in a local hospital.

A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. today in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Bush officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Rodriguez was born in Nurenburg, Germany, and attended school in Germany. She moved to the U.S. in 1968 from Germany. She married Joe L. Rodriguez in 1983 in Abilene and graduated from American Commercial College. She worked for Shaw, Welborn & Johnson, attorneys at law, for 10 years as a legal secretary, and Winterchek & Associates for 1-1/2 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one son, Robert A. Phillips of Abilene; her mother, Maria Smauscher of Nurenburg, Germany; one sister, Isabella Bonk of Nurenburg, Germany; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to American Heart Association, 149 N. Willis, Abilene 79603.

John David Forman

John David Forman, 89, owner of a custom clothing business for more than 63 years, died Thursday in a local nursing home.

Private graveside services will be today in Elmwood Memorial Park with Bill Davis officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.

Mr. Forman was born in Coleman and graduated from Ballinger High School. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and moved to Abilene in 1946. He was the widower of Ima Evelyn Murphy Forman.

Survivors include two sisters, Florence Miller of San Angelo and Anita Smith of Coleman.

Imogene Watts

ANSON -- Imogene Watts, 66, named Woman of the Year in 1987 by the Anson Chamber of Commerce, died Wednesday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Anson Church of Christ with P.B. Middlebrook and Lee Welch officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Watts was born in Hawley and graduated from Anson High School. She married Arvell Watts in 1953 in Anson and was a homemaker. She was active in Meals on Wheels, Anson-Jones Museum, Anson Public Library and Pink Ladies. She was a director of Child Protective Services and was a former director of the chamber of commerce. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, of Anson; two sons, Ricky Watts of Abilene and Tony Watts of Anson; one brother, Jerry Walters of New Braunfels; and five grandchildren.

Elmo Jones

CHILDRESS -- Elmo L. Jones, 84, relative of two Abilene residents, died Thursday in Lubbock.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Childress First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim McCurley officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery, directed by Johnson Funeral Home.

Mr. Jones was born in Turnersville and married Mary Mink in 1939 in Childress. He served with the U.S. Army's 97th Infantry Division in Europe and Japan. He formerly worked as a salesman for Curtis Candies and Ponka Wholesales. He was employed as a teller by First State Bank and was a member of American Legion and First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of Childress; one son, Chris Jones of Abilene; three sisters, Mary Francis Anderson of Amarillo, Jewell Burns of Stinnett and Celia Ann Harwell of Abilene; one brother, C.L. Jones of Dalhart; and two grandchildren.

Philip 'Flip' Horn

BROWNWOOD -- Philip A. "Flip" Horn, 69, of Thunderbird Bay at North Lake Brownwood, died Thursday at his home.

Graveside services with Masonic rites will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Brown County, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Mr. Horn was born in Belle Fontaine, Ohio, and attended school in Huntsville, Ohio. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars and retired from the U.S. Air Force. He married Jo Anne Berry in 1975 in Baton Rouge, La., and graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1983. He moved to North Lake Brownwood in 1988 from San Antonio. He was a volunteer firefighter and also was an emergency care attendant with the North Lake Brownwood Emergency Medical Service. He was a member of American Legion Post 470 and May Masonic Lodge 574 and was a Presbyterian.

Survivors include his wife, of Lake Brownwood; three sons, W.D. Horn of Denver, Tony Wilcox of Brownwood and Keenan Wilcox of Lake Brownwood; three daughters, Melody Strauss of Woodstock, Ill., Anita Kizziar of Dallas and Carol McClennen of Lampasas; one sister, Janat Wilcox of Venice, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to North Lake Brownwood Volunteer Fire Department.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Olivia Schwertner

ROWENA -- Olivia (Mrs. Ludwig) Schwertner, 85, died Thursday in a Ballinger hospital.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church with the Revs. Stephen Kennelly and Benedict Zientek officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, directed by Rains-Seale Funeral Home of Ballinger.

Mrs. Schwertner was born in Rowena, where she married Ludwig F. Schwertner in 1935, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Rowena Arts and Crafts Club, Family Skat Club and altar society at St. Ann Catholic Church. She also was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, of Rowena; two sons, Lloyd Schwertner of San Angelo and Maynard Schwertner of Rowena; two daughters, Jane Holtmen of Ballinger and Rita Frey of Mason; four sisters, Cordula Beimer of Rowena, Leona Book of Miles, and Gladys Multer and Alice Wilde, both of Ballinger; one brother, Norbert Moeller of Rowena; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Clifford 'C.B.' Milam

BROWNWOOD -- Clifford "C.B." Milam, 71, lifelong Brown County resident, died Wednesday in a Dallas hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve McMeans officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Milam was born in Brownwood and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Dorothy Jean Byrd in 1947 in Brownwood. He graduated from Daniel Baker College and Howard Payne University and worked in the Brownwood school district for 25 years. He was Brownwood school superintendent from 1974 until retiring in 1978. He also owned and operated Milam Polled Herefords and was a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; two daughters, Patti Bushman of Burleson and Kimberly Campbell of Brownwood; one sister, Doris Mazurek of Comanche; and five grandchildren.

Ruby Kays

MORAN -- Ruby L. Kays, 87, died Wednesday in an Albany nursing home.

Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. today in Moran Cemetery with the Rev. Douglas Stenberg officiating, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kays was born in Santa Anna and was a homemaker. She moved to Moran in 1942 from Indian Creek. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was the widow of Lume Kays, whom she married in 1927 in Hammon, Okla.

Survivors include one son, Marvin D. Kays of Moran; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two nieces and one nephew.

Memorials may be sent to Moran First United Methodist Church or Moran Historical Society.

Bennie Jewel Evans

BROWNWOOD -- Bennie Jewel Evans, 47, died Wednesday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Aaron Blake officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Ms. Evans was born in Burleson County and moved to Brownwood as a child. She worked as an operator for General Telephone Co.

Survivors include a companion, Roscoe Burns; two brothers, Vincent Monson of Brownwood and Sugar Ray Monson of Tunis; four sisters, Jessie Mae Adkins of Lubbock, Dalphine Monson of Brownwood, Betty Joe Monson of Tunis and Daisy Monson of Fort Worth; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

Garland Guy Gage

CISCO -- Garland Guy Gage, 94, of Manteca, Calif., and formerly of Cisco, died Tuesday in a Manteca nursing home.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel with George McCants and Ed Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Longbranch Cemetery in Eastland County.

Mr. Gage was born in Indian Territory, Okla., and worked as a carpenter. He attended the Gospel Assembly and was the widower of Irma Oleta Crawford Gage, whom he married in 1934; Clara Hull Gage, whom he married in 1983; and Liddie Doud Gage, whom he married in 1990.

Survivors include one daughter, Patsy McGough of Cisco; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Johynie Spain

BROWNWOOD -- Johynie H. Spain, 72, died Thursday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery.

Mrs. Spain was born in Lampasas and moved to Brownwood in 1929. She married Calvin R. Spain in 1952 in Brownwood. She worked as the county clerk of Brown County and was a member of Early United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, of Brownwood; one stepdaughter, Gretta Liles of Throckmorton; one sister, Maxine Alderson of Brownwood; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Darlene Marlar

Darlene R. Marlar, 63, died Thursday at her home. Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.

Gale 'Gabby' Hubble

CLYDE -- Gale "Gabby" Hubble, 70, died Thursday in a local nursing home. Services are pending with Bailey Funeral Home.

Mary Mendoza Rendon

BIG SPRING -- Mary Mendoza Rendon, 74, died Wednesday in a local hospital. Mass will be said at 4 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, directed by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

L.R. 'LaRoy' Troutt

ROSCOE -- L.R. "LaRoy" Troutt, 72, died Thursday at his home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lone Wolf Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.

John Clements III

BIG SPRING -- John T. Clements III, 56, died Thursday in a local nursing home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Memorial Park, directed by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Zada Henson

CROSS PLAINS -- Zada J. Henson, 82, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Rising Star.

Bennie McBee

BRADY -- Bennie McBee, 84, of Carlsbad, N.M., and formerly of McCulloch County, father of an Abilene resident, died Wednesday in Carlsbad. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Resthaven Cemetery, directed by Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Retired Air Force Maj. Dean Bernier

STAMFORD -- Retired U.S. Air Force Maj. Dean Bernier, 67, of Roanoke, died Tuesday in Frisco. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Kinney Funeral Home Chapel.

Blanche Faye Bruns

SNYDER -- Blanche Faye Bruns, 78, died Thursday in a Lubbock hospital after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Trinity United Methodist Church, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Debbie Alston

STAMFORD -- Debbie Alston, 84, died Thursday in a local hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Avoca Baptist Church, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
