Today's Obituaries (May 18, 1998)

Sean Zebley

Sean Zebley, 44, died Friday at a local nursing home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange, with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Neinda Cemetery.

Mr. Zebley grew up in El Paso and moved to Abilene in 1972. He was an Air Force veteran and worked for Abilene Metal Building for several years. He had been a truck driver for 12 years and worked for Hill Brothers Transport since 1997. He was a Baptist. He married Pam Collins in 1985 in Abilene.

Survivors include his wife of Abilene; two sons, Chris Zebley and Jacob Zebley, both of Tacoma, Wash.; two daughters, Elizabeth Zebley and Melissa Zebley, both of Tacoma; one stepson, Kevin Hatley of San Antonio; one stepdaughter, Kristi Hatley of Abilene; and four brothers, Jeff Zebley of California, Tim Bruster of Eden, Andy Zebley of Indiana and Noel Zebley of Texas.

Lloyd Seybold

Lloyd G. Seybold, 68, died Saturday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd, with the Revs. Burtis Williams and Steve Parker officiating. Burial will be in Tuscola Cemetery.

Mr. Seybold was born in Wink and had lived in Abilene for more than 35 years. He was retired from R&R Electronics and was a member of Elmcrest Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Army and Air Force and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He married Anne Gosset in 1962 in Abilene.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Melissa Mitchell of Abilene; one son, Jeff Seybold of Abilene; his mother, Pennie Seybold of Abilene; three sisters, Jean Aaron of Tuscola, Nell Martin of Lake Livingston and Sandy Parker of Abilene; one brother, Royce Seybold of El Paso; and one grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1922, Abilene 79604.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8:30 today.

Zena Fair Gallaway

Zena Fair Gallaway, 93, died Friday in a local nursing home.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Curtis Cadenhead officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Gallaway was born in Black Springs, Ark., and attended school in Fannin County. She graduated from East Texas State and Texas Christian universities and started a 42-year school teaching career in 1926 in Van Zandt County. She also taught in Canton, Wills Point, Granbury, for 13 years in Brownwood, and at Howard-Payne College in Brownwood. She received the George Washington Medal in 1965 from the American Freedoms Foundation in Valley Forge, Pa. She was a life member of both the National Retired and Texas State teachers associations. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and was a member of 20th Century Club, Delta Kappa Gamma and St. James United Methodist Church. She was the widow of John Gallaway, whom she married in 1928 in Riverby.

Survivors include one nephew, Jim Cummins of Odessa.

Memorials may be sent to Delta Kappa Gamma.

Zendola Yoes

BROWNWOOD -- Zendola Yoes, 67, of Rising Star died Saturday at her home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Yoes was born in Friona and grew up in Plainview. She was a retired school teacher and a member of First Baptist Church in Bellville. She married Bill Yoes in 1952 in Plainview.

Survivors include her husband of Rising Star; two sons, Brian Yoes of Pledger and Paul Yoes of Santa Barbara, Calif.; his mother, Moruca King of Tulia; one sister, Latrella Flowers of Tulia; two brothers, Gene King of Tulia and Austin King of Burlington, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

Adelene Glass Burson

HASKELL -- Adelene Glass Burson, 74, died Saturday at a Lubbock hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Turner and Dr. Troy Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Burson was born in Haskell County and was a secretary and bookkeeper for the county superintendent. She was a Baptist. She was the widow of Moreland Glass. She married Vernay Burson in 1992 in Haskell.

Survivors include her husband of Haskell; two daughters, Bobbye Carnes of Plano and Jeanette Walker of Dallas; one son, Kenneth Glass of Spring; one brother, Raleigh Conner of Ozona; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nephews.

Mynye Belle Bratton

ROTAN -- Mynye Belle Bratton, 72, died Sunday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rotan Church of Christ with J.J. Martin officiating, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bratton was born in McCulloch County and had lived in the Rotan area since 1967. She was a homemaker and a member of Rotan Church of Christ. She married Darmon Bratton in 1943 in Brownwood.

Survivors include her husband of Rotan; one daughter, Brenda Hicks Lipke of Rotan; one son, Steve Bratton of Austin; two sisters, Marie Cates of Brady and Molette Behrnes of Burnet.

Memorials may be made to the Rotan Church of Christ youth program.

Glenda Bullion McGlothlin

COMANCHE -- Glenda Bullion McGlothlin, 63, of Bossier City, La., formerly of Brownwood, died Sunday at a Waco hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. McGlothlin was born in San Angelo and was a homemaker and a member of Belle Plain Baptist Church in Brownwood. She married Harold Gene McGlothlin in 1974 in San Antonio.

Survivors include her husband of Bossier City; two daughters, Kathy Luthy of Brownwood and Mary Right of Comanche; one son, James Luthy of Brownwood; one brother, David Bullion of Eden; one sister, Betty Watson of Temple; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Comanche Unit, 804 W. Wright, Comanche 76442.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. today.

Lois Marie Wilson

STRAWN -- Lois Marie Wilson, 90, died Saturday at her home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Mesquite and Rusk Street Church of Christ in Ranger with Ronnie Lowe officiating, assisted by Weldon Smith. Burial will be in Mount Marion Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wilson ws born in Erath County and grew up and attended school in the Stephenville area. She lived in the Strawn area most of her life. She was a member of Mesquite and Rusk Street Church of Christ and a homemaker. She married Dean Wilson in 1923 in Stephenville; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include three grandsons and five great-grandchildren.

Wayne Day

ROTAN -- Wayne Day, 69, died Sunday at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Chester Lessman officiating. Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.

Mr. Day was born in Ovalo and was a retired minister. He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and had lived in Rotan for 4-1/2 years. He married Charlene Day in 1947 in Brownfield.

Survivors include his wife of Rotan; three daughters, Judy Speck of Rotan, Lanore Green of Newcame and Kathy Bowen of Houston; one son, Wayne Day Jr.; three sisters, Bertha Marsh and Ruby Groves of Brownfield and Wanda Linderman of Portales, N.M.; three brothers, Leo Day of Spur, W.C. Day of Odessa and Horace Day of Andrews; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Patsy Jo Clark

BALLINGER -- Patsy Jo Clark, 62, died Saturday in San Angelo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Howe officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, directed by Rains-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Clark was born in Blanton and was an office clerk for Dry Manufacturing in Winters for more than 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Three Rivers Good Sams Club. She worked with church youth and Little League for many years and was a member of National and State Archery Association for more than 10 years. She married Marvin Clark in 1952 in Ballinger.

Survivors include her husband of Ballinger; one daughter, Mickie Hallmark of Gatesville; two sons, Marvin "Buster" Clark of Ozona and John David Clark of Wylie (near Dallas); one sister, Mrs. O.J. Murray of Winters; one brother, Carl Canady of Freeport; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to West Texas Rehabilitation Center; the American Cancer Society; or the donor's favorite charity.

Billie Ruth Jones McChristian

Billie Ruth Jones McChristian, 63, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital. Services are pending with Curtis-Starks Funeral Home, 542 E.N. 7th.

Curtis Jordan

HASKELL -- Curtis Jordan died Sunday at an Abilene hospital. Services are pending with Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.

Moses Aaron Brown

SWEETWATER -- Moses Aaron Brown, 17, died Sunday in Snyder. Services are pending with McCoy Funeral Home.

Ray Beggs

FORT WORTH -- Ray Beggs, 67, of White Settlement, formerly of Eastland County, died Saturday at a local hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Ranger.

Joseph Daniel O'Connor

SWEETWATER -- Joseph Daniel O'Connor, 60, died Sunday in Abilene. Services are pending with McCoy Funeral Home.
