Joe Reynolds

KERRVILLE - Joe Reynolds, 75, formerly of Abilene, died Friday at his home.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Warren Hornung officiating, directed by Grimes Funeral Chapels.

Mr. Reynolds was born in Toya and lived in Kermit before moving to Kerrville, where he lived 31 years. He was a retired Army major, having served with the Abilene 131st Field Artillery battalion of the 36th National Guard Division.

He attended McMurry College in Abilene. He married Joyce Marie Owen in 1948 in Abilene; she preceded him in death. He owned and operated Reynolds Jewelry in Kerrville and was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include two sons, Jon Reynolds and Jim Reynolds, both of San Antonio; one sister, Helen Sapp of Georgetown; two brothers, Bill Reynolds of Toledo Bend and Jack Reynolds of Atlanta, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Delma Lee Gray

Delma Lee Gray, 88, of Abilene died Sunday at a local nursing home.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Elmwood Memorial Park with James Dieterich officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Mrs. Gray was born in Gouldbusk and had lived in Abilene since 1942. She was a retired homemaker and a member of University Baptist Church. She was the widow of Elmer Hardy and John Earl Gray.

Survivors include one daughter, Jean Roberson of Arlington; one brother, James Franklin Dieterich of Livingston; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

Hershel Robert Hunt

COPPERAS COVE - Hershel Robert Hunt, 73, died Friday at a Fort Hood hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Waldron, Ark., directed by Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.

Mr. Hunt was born in Blue Ball, Ark., and grew up and went to school in Arkansas. He had lived in Copperas Cove since 1959. He was retired from the U.S. Army and from civil service. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Copperas Cove and Masonic Lodge 595 in Mount Hiram. He married Bobbie Oglesby in 1950.

Survivors include his wife of Copperas Cove; one son, Danny Hunt of Copperas Cove; one daughter, Janis Hass of Abilene; two brothers, Don Hunt of Fort Smith, Ark., and Jim Hunt of Waldron; two sisters, Reba Sue Williams of Danville, Ark., and Betty Jo Garner of Russelville, Ark.; and one grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Abilene Christian Homes.

Clois 'Red' McBee

BROWNWOOD - Clois "Red" McBee, 77, of Indian Creek died Sunday at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.J. Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Cox Cemetery in McCulloch County.

Mr. McBee was born in Placid and had lived in Brownwood all his life. He was a farmer and a Baptist. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen McBee Reed of Stillwater, Okla.; one granddaughter and four cousins.

Ora Merle Boyd

COMANCHE - Ora Merle Boyd, 84, died Monday at a Brownwood hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Comanche Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Dr. Van Christian officiating, directed by Hall & Sons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Boyd was born in San Angelo and had lived in Comanche for 35 years, moving from California. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Charles "Chuck" Boyd in 1933 in Comanche; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Charles Ivan Boyd of Gardenville, Nev.; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

The family will be at First Baptist Church for lunch at noon Wednesday.

Lillie Mae Windham

MIDLAND - Lillie Mae Windham, 87, died Sunday in Fort Worth.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Dean Seale officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Mrs. Windham was born in Hope, Ark., and graduated from CNA Nursing School in Palm Springs, Calif., in 1969. She was employed by Memorial Hospital in Midland and Haskell Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Baptist church in Granbury. She married Thomas David Windham in 1979 in Midland; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include four daughters, Joyce Seale of Peoria, Ariz., Betty Culp of Granbury, Opal Letterman of Haskell and Linda Brown of San Antonio; two sisters, Edith Wilson and Marie Collins, both of Midland; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Universal Health Services Hospice Division, 2223 N.E. 28th, Fort Worth 76106.

Gene Davis

BROWNWOOD - Gene Davis, 53, of Lake Brownwood died Saturday at his home.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche with the Rev. Janice Petty officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Mr. Davis was born in Pasadena, Tex., and had lived in Brown County for 20 years. He was a welder. He married Ginger Ricter in 1970 in Hobbs, N.M.; she preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, Eric Davis of Brownwood and Matt Davis of Fredericksburg; one daughter, Debbie Ferguson of Lometa; three stepsons, Todd Darden of Big Spring and Scott Darden and Carey Darden, both of Brownwood; one stepdaughter, Brenda Thomas of Midland; his mother and stepfather, Stannie and Carl Parker of Early; one brother, Dow Davis of Stephenville; two sisters, Pat Clark and Beth Preston, both of Zephyr; and 10 grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. today.

Mary Alice Cabrera

MUNDAY - Mary Alice Cabrera, 39, died Monday at a Knox City hospital.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at McCauley-Smith Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Rhineland with the Rev. Kevin Fagan officiating, assisted by Julian Estrada. Burial will be in Johnson Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Cabrera was born in Haskell and had lived in Munday for 29 years. She graduated from Munday High School and attended West Texas State University. She was a homemaker and a member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Rhineland.

Survivors include one son, Jacob Cabrera of Munday; one daughter, Sandy Cabrera of Munday; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Salvador Sosa of Munday; grandmother, Celina Espinoza of Knox City; four brothers, Freddie Sosa Sr. and Ricky Sosa, both of Munday, Salvador Sosa Jr. of Grand Prairie and Jimmy Sosa of Arlington; and several other relatives.

John Franklin Wootan

HASKELL - John Franklin Wootan, 80, who owned and operated Bell Service Station for 40 years, died Sunday at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Larence Ballou and Jim Turner officiating. Burial will be in Aspermont Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Wootan was born in Bremond and worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps at Yellowstone Park in 1932. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Alice Richie in 1941 in Aspermont.

Survivors include his wife of Haskell; two daughters, Melba Jean Kretschmer of Haskell and Doris June Wootan of Kermit; one son, Lesley Franklin Wootan of Sweetwater; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Janice Virginia 'Ginger' Richters Darden Davis

BROWNWOOD - Janice Virginia "Ginger" Richters Darden Davis, 54, died Saturday.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Camp officiating. The body will be cremated.

Mrs. Davis was born in Odessa and had lived in Brownwood for 22 years. She was assistant administrative assistant to the city secretary of Brownwood and a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Todd Darden of Coahoma and Scott Darden, Carey Darden and Erick Davis, all of Brownwood; one daughter, Brenda Thomas of Midland; her parents, Earnest and Lucille Richters of Coahoma; four sisters, Veta Spears of Coahoma, Sherlene Topping of Austin, Linda Coates of Garden City and Madeline Raney of Kaufman; three brothers, Dewayne Richters of Alvarado, Dean Richters of Coahoma and Don Richters of Eldorado; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Iva Simpson Thomas

BROWNWOOD - Iva Simpson Thomas, 67, died Friday after a brief illness.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Oakview Cemetery in Mullin, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Mrs. Thomas was born on Browns Creek in Mills County and moved to Bisbee, Ariz., where she provided child day care for 13 years.

Survivors include two sons, Weldon Eugene Thomas of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Gary Wayne Thomas of Bisbee; two daughters, Donna Dodds of Brownwood and Brenda Hill of Kerrville; and eight grandchildren.

Nikki Griffith

MERKEL - Nikki Griffith, 22, of Noodle died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Matthew Van Hook and Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.

Miss Griffith was born in Abilene and graduated from Merkel High School in 1994. She was a certified nurse's aide and a member of Noodle Baptist Church.

Survivors include her parents, Douglas Hayes Griffith and Connie Ann Griffith of Noodle; one son, Kolton Dane Griffith of Noodle; two sisters, Mikki Kirby of Chandler, Ariz., and April McNutt of Merkel; grandparents J.D. and Doris Goble of Cross Plains and Faye Griffith of Merkel; and several other relatives.

Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Joanne Avory Dupree

BROWNWOOD - Joanne Avory Dupree, 44, of Brownwood and formerly of Russellville, Ark., died Sunday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Humphrey Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Local arrangements were by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Mrs. Dupree was born in Clarendon Hills, Ill., and was working for the March for Jesus Group in Brown County. She was a member of Breath of Life Church in Early.

Survivors include her father, Eugene Setty of Springdale, Ark.; one daughter, Samantha Dupree of Russellville; and two brothers, Gary Brown of Rhonert Park, Calif., and Mike Setty of Mount Pleasant.

Kenneth McVea

BIG SPRING - Kenneth O. McVea, 32, died Friday after a truck accident. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Myers & Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Northside Baptist Church.

Myrtle 'Marie' Morgan

MIDLAND - Myrtle "Marie" Morgan, 84, died Saturday at a local hospital. Services were Monday at Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services were in Elmwood Cemetery in Abilene.

Nona Ruth Tinney

DUNCAN, Okla. - Nona Ruth Tinney, 64, sister of two Abilene men, died Saturday at her home. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel.

Loubelle Womack

GOLDTHWAITE - Loubelle Womack, 86, died Monday at a local nursing home. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel.

F.M. Head

GOLDTHWAITE - F.M. Head, 101, of the Caradan community died Monday at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel.

Joseph Daniel O'Connor

SWEETWATER - Joseph Daniel O'Connor, 60, died Sunday in Abilene. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories.

Gregory Bill Snowden

Gregory Bill Snowden, 33, formerly of Abilene, died Monday at a Dallas hospital. Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Jerry Don Stephens

BIG SPRING - Jerry Don Stephens, 61, died Sunday in Hurst. Services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Anna White

KNOX CITY - Anna A. White, 68, died Monday at her home after a lengthy illness. Services are pending with Smith Funeral Home.

Moses Aaron Brown

SWEETWATER - Moses Aaron Brown, 17, died Sunday in Snyder. Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.

Lillian Marlin

BIG SPRING - Lillian Marlin, 76, of Stanton died Friday at a Stanton care center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Olive Memorial Park, directed by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Lillie Miles

COLORADO CITY - Lillie Miles, 72, died Monday at an Abilene hospital. Services are pending with Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
