Eva Rae "Curley" Lowe
Eva Rae "Curley" Lowe, 78, died Monday in an Abilene
hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist
Church in Haskell with the Rev. Shane Brue officiating, directed
by Holden-McCauley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery.
Mrs. Lowe was born in Colorado City and married James Aubrey
Boyd in 1948. He died in 1966, and she later married Ernest Ray
Lowe in 1975. She was a Methodist and worked in laundry at the
Abilene Rehab.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Boyd of Abilene; one brother,
J.M. Gay of Cisco; one sister, Neva Mae Borth of Stratford; and
two grandchildren.
Rose Ann Gilbert
FREEPORT -- Rose Ann Gilbert, formerly of Abilene, died Friday
at her home.
Services were Tuesday at Lake Jackson Church of Christ, directed
by Freeport Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gilbert (formerly Rose Ann Crane) graduated from Cooper
High School.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Gilbert of Freeport;
one son, David Gilbert of Freeport; one daughter, Jeannie Lynn
Houston of Freeport; her mother, Mavis Crane of Abilene; and one
grandson.
Clarice Ragan
BROWNWOOD -- Clarice Ragan, 92, of Granbury, formerly of Brownwood,
died Sunday in Granbury.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Davis-Morris Funeral
Home Chapel with Dr. Art Allen officiating. Burial will be in
Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early.
Mrs. Ragan was born in Comanche County and married Troy Ragan
in Dublin in 1924. A homemaker, she spent the past 10 years in
Brownwood after moving from Bastrop. She was a member of Salt
Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Ragan of Brownwood and Floyd
Ragan of Granbury; one daughter, Betty Casey of Granbury; eight
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Virginia Ruth Lee
BROWNWOOD -- Virginia Ruth Lee, 81, died Monday in a local
hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Davis-Morris Funeral
Home Chapel. Burial will be in May Cemetery in May.
Mrs. Lee was born in Brown County, where she lived all her
life. She was a childcare provider. She married Barnie Wilburn
Lee in 1939 in Brownwood.
Survivors include two sons, Sonny Lee of Brownwood and Bill
Lee of Early; two daughters, Betty Roberts of Irving and Wanda
Stark of Brownwood; one brother, Mark Fisher of Early; two sisters,
Jewel Lee and Mary Plummer, both of May; 10 grandchildren, five
great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Clarence Leon Lewis
BROWNWOOD -- Clarence Leon Lewis, 90, died Monday in a Brownwood
nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Heartland Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Capps and the Rev. Jerry P. Galloway
officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Lewis was born in Winchell and attended schools there.
He married Mildred Alleen Kelly in 1934. He worked for Montgomery
Ward and was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church. He moved
to Brownwood in 1996 after living in the Blanket and Winchell
areas.
Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; one son, Wayne Lewis
of Brownwood; four daughters, Jesse Viola Bruton, Virginia Lee
Miller and Frances Alleen Dalleh, all of Brownwood, and Linda
Sue Williams of Cross Plains; three sisters, Dora Moren of Brownwood,
Earlene Ford of Early and Annie Lee Chesser of Sherman; 14 grandchildren
and 22 great-grandchildren.

ANSON -- Bedie Beatrice Hatley, 80, died Tuesday in Abilene.
Services are pending with Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.

ALBANY -- Lula Graham, 97, died Tuesday in an Abilene nursing
home. Services are pending with Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
James Claudie Allen
SWEETWATER -- James Claudie Allen, 85, died Tuesday in a local
hospital. Services are pending with Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral

Helen Stephens
KNOX CITY -- Helen Stephens, 83, of Ruidoso, N.M., formerly
of Knox City and Lubbock, died Monday at a Ruidoso hospital. Services
are pending with Smith Funeral Home.

SNYDER -- Rudy Amador, 47, died Tuesday at home. Services will
be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel.
Edgar Vinters Walker
BIG SPRING -- Edgar Vinters Walker, 74, died Monday at a local
hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Nalley-Pickle
& Welch Funeral Home Rosewood Chapel.
