Artis 'Cooney' Williams
Artis "Cooney" Williams, 79, died Saturday in a local
hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Oddfellows Cemetery
with the Rev. L.W. Hutchinson officiating, directed by Curtis-Starks
Funeral Home, 542 E.N. 7th.
Mr. Williams was born in Waco, where he attended school, and
moved to Abilene as a teen-ager. He worked as a handy man and
was the widower of Ella Mae Lyons Williams.
Survivors include one adopted son, Christopher Rodriguez of
Abilene; one niece, Dorothy L. Kennon of Abilene; three great-nieces;
and many other relatives.
Vernon Vincent Houck
Vernon Vincent Houck, 81, died Monday in Abilene.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Cedar Hill Cemetery
with the Rev. Harland Birdwell officiating, directed by North's
Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Houck grew up in Vernon and lived in California for several
years. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and moved
to Anchorage, Alaska, in the late 1940s. He worked worked as a
truck driver in Anchorage for 50 years and was a member of the
Alaska Teamsters Union. He married Lula Culbertson in 1963 and
moved to Abilene in 1997. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sisters, Mary Rice
of Abilene and Madeline McCready of Mission Viejo, Calif.; one
brother, Leo Houck of Karnack; and several nieces and nephews.
John Boyd 'Pa' Kincaid
ALBANY -- John Boyd "Pa" Kincaid, 90, formerly of
Lueders, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Lawrence-Adams Funeral
Home Chapel in Anson with David Mallory officiating. Burial will
be in Clear Fork Cemetery in Lueders.
Mr. Kincaid was born in Ballinger and lived in Lueders for
many years. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He farmed in Lueders and worked for the city's water department
until retiring in 1973. He moved to Abilene in 1984 and Albany
in 1996. He was a member of Lueders Church of Christ and was the
widower of Vera Mae Underwood Kincaid, whom he married in 1942
in Lueders.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Kincaid of Abilene and J.B.
Kincaid of California; two daughters, Maxine Grissom of Hawley
and Gearldine Edwards of Albany; 10 grandchildren; and several
great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Emma Elizabeth Fields
CISCO -- Emma Elizabeth Fields, infant, died Monday in an Abilene
hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Oakwood Cemetery
with the Rev. Gary Turner officiating, directed by Chambers-Wilcox
Funeral Directors.
Emma was born in Abilene.
Survivors include her parents, Rex and Jill Siewert Fields
of Cisco; one sister, Rebekah Fields of Cisco; her maternal grandparents,
Ron and Sharon Knaus of Abilene; her paternal grandparents, Ted
and Penny Fields of Cisco; three aunts and one uncle; and several
other relatives.
Memorials may be sent to Cisco First United Methodist Church.
Calvin Tucker
BROWNWOOD -- Calvin Tucker, 77, formerly of Ramona, Okla.,
died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Friend Church in Ramona,
Okla. Burial will be in Romona Cemetery, directed by Arnold Moore
Funeral Home. Local arrangements were made by Heartland Funeral
Home of Early.
Mr. Tucker was born in Oolagah, Okla., where he attended school,
and served with the U.S. Army. He worked as a laborer and moved
to Harker Heights in 1975 from Ramona, Okla.
Survivors include one brother, Kenneth Wayne Tucker of Brownwood;
two sisters, Ruth Ann Hodge of Independence, Kan., and Lula May
Cochran of Brownwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Zora Moore
COMANCHE -- Zora Moore, 91, died Tuesday in a De Leon hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hall & Sons Funeral
Home Chapel with Dr. Van Christian and Jerry Huffman officiating.
Burial will be in Stag Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was born in May and lived in Comanche County most
of her life. She taught school in her early years and was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widow of
Rance Moore, whom she married in 1926.
Survivors include one daughter, Jessie Carroll of Comanche;
one brother, George Reynolds of Los Angeles; two grandchildren;
and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today in the funeral
home.

PLAINS -- Henry Weldon "Punk" Culwell, 82, formerly
of Avoca, died Tuesday at his home. Services are pending with
Head Family Funeral Home.

COLEMAN -- Mary Jane Najera, 45, died Tuesday in a San Angelo
hospital. Services are pending with Walker Funeral Home.

ANSON -- Ione Young, 79, of Midland, died Tuesday at her home.
