Today's Obituaries (June 15, 1998)

Wyoma Juanita Lane

CLYDE - Wyoma Juanita Lane, 84, of Arlington, formerly of Clyde, died Sunday in an Arlington nursing home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with grandson James Allen Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery.

Mrs. Lane was born in Gorman, where she married William Ebbie Lane in 1931. The couple moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1981, where Mr. Lane died in 1985. Mrs. Lane moved to Arlington in 1997. She was a private duty nurse and a member of Clyde Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, James E. Lane of Jasper; two daughters, Martha A. Taylor of Austin and Peggy "Betty" Smith of Arlington; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

C.E. 'Bus' Laster

SNYDER - C. E. "Bus" Laster, 85, died Sunday in an Abilene hospital.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C.J. Smith and retired Baptist minister Dr. Marty Atkins officiating. Burial will be in Dunn Cemetery.

Mr. Laster came to Scurry County at the age of 12 from Eastland County. He was a longtime resident of the Dunn Community. He farmed many years in that area and later moved to San Angelo, where he was employed as a civil service worker at Goodfellow Air Force Base for 11 years before returning to Dunn. He moved to Snyder four years ago. He was a member of the Dunn Masonic Lodge and the American Federal Employee's Union. He was a longtime member of the Dunn Baptist Church before moving to Snyder.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Laster of Dunn; four sons, Jim Laster of Hobbs, N.M., Bill Laster of Big Spring, Ron Laster of Hurst and Dennis Laster of Abilene; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lorine Harrell

Lorine Harrell, 64, died Saturday in a local hospital. Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

William 'Bill' Parsons

William L. "Bill" Parsons, 85, died Sunday in a local hospital. Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Anna Angeline Shaw

BIG SPRING - Anna Angeline Shaw, 94, died Sunday in a Big Spring hospital. Services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Eula Norris Weatherford

BRECKENRIDGE - Eula Norris Weatherford, 100, died Sunday in a Breckenridge nursing home. Services are pending with Morehart Mortuary.

Robert Hawkins

ROTAN - Robert L. Hawkins, 67, died Friday in Houston. Services are pending with Weathersbee Funeral Home.

Wilmoth Alley Russell

SANTA ANNA - Wilmoth Alley Russell, 83, of Tyler, formerly of Santa Anna, died Saturday in Tyler. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in First Baptist Church, directed by Henderson Funeral Home.

Charles Coats Jr.

CROSS PLAINS - Charles W. Coats Jr., 76, died Friday in Arlington. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale.

David Graham

DUBLIN - David J. Graham, 58, died Saturday in Temple. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Victor Cemetery, directed by Harrell Funeral Home.

Ruth Maxwell

BRECKENRIDGE - Ruth Maxwell, 76, died Saturday at home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hart Cemetery, directed by Melton Funeral Home.

John Warlick

GOLDTHWAITE - John Warlick, 85, died Sunday in a local nursing home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel.

Lillie Mae Holcomb

SWEETWATER - Lillie Mae Holcomb, 86, died Saturday in a local hospital. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sweetwater Cemetery, directed by Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Ruby May Nowlin

DE LEON - Ruby May Nowlin, 88, died Sunday in a De Leon nursing home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Nowlin Funeral Home Chapel.

Beryl Kathleen Jones

DUBLIN - Beryl Kathleen Jones, 85, died Friday in a Stephenville hospital. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Dublin Liveoak Cemetery, directed by Harrell Funeral Home.
