Carolyn Aguilar
Carolyn G. Aguilar, 68, died Monday at her home.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in St. Francis Catholic
Church with the Rev. Joseph H. Uecker officiating. Burial will
be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home,
5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Aguilar was born in Longworth, where she grew up, and
married Romulo Aguilar in 1969. She moved to Abilene in 1975 from
Rising Star and worked at Texas Instruments for 10 years until
retiring. She was active in League of United Latin American Citizens
and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one son, Jesse Benavides
Jr. of Abilene; two daughters, Pauline Castillo of Sweetwater
and Rosa Cruces of Roscoe; four brothers, Jose Gomez, Francisco
Gomez and Fernando Gomez, all of Sweetwater, and Lupe Gomez of
Odessa; one sister, Valentina Palma of Midland; 16 grandchildren;
and 21 great-grandchildren.

Margie 'Kay' Bernard Nicholson
Margie "Kay" Bernard Nicholson, 74, died Monday in
a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Elmwood Funeral Home
Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Archie Echols officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Nicholson was born in Nugent and attended school in Nugent
and Lueders. She worked in retail for 40 years and moved to Abilene
in 1986 from Houston. She married Bill Nicholson in 1997 in Abilene
and was a member of River Oaks Chapter 1013, Order of the Eastern
Star, American Business Women's Association, Beta Sigma Phi, Thursday
Book Review Club and Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; three daughters,
Kathy Dayley of Santa Ana, Calif., Karon Cramer of Nashville,
Tenn., and Patti Bernard-Weiner of Houston; two sons, Craig Nicholson
and Randy Nicholson, both of Abilene; one sister, Betty Dennis
of Abilene; two brothers, Wendon Rogers and Wayne Rogers, both
of Abilene; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
A memorial service will follow.
Edna Frieda Milholland
Edna Frieda Milholland, 89, formerly of Dallas, died Monday
in a local care center.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Restland Funeral
Home Wildwood Chapel in Dallas with Dick Still and Virgil Trout
officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Dallas, directed
by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Milholland was born in Garland, where she graduated from
high school in 1926, and earned a teaching certificate in Denton.
She lived most of her life in Dallas, where she worked as a secretary
at Skillman Avenue Church of Christ for more than 35 years. She
moved to Abilene in 1997 and was the widow of Andrew Lester Milholland,
whom she married in Dallas.
Survivors include one son, Tom Milholland of Abilene; one daughter,
Dena Spann of Douglassville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Sarah Virden
Sarah E. Virden, 90, died Monday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Round Mound Cemetery
with the Rev. Jim Zug officiating, directed by North's Funeral
Home, 242 Orange.
Mrs. Virden was born in Stroud, Okla., and moved to Abilene
in 1936. She married B.F. Virden in 1945 and worked at Montgomery
Ward for 12 years until retiring in 1979. She was a member of
First Christian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann Farr of Abilene; eight
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bobbie Bell Nieto
STAMFORD - Bobbie Bell Nieto, 70, lifelong local resident,
died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Central Baptist Church
with the Revs. Mark Reynolds and James Brigham officiating. Burial
will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery, directed by Tankersley
Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nieto was a homemaker and was a member of Central Baptist
Church.
Survivors include three sons, Clifton Bell, Harley Bell and
Milton Bell, all of Stamford; three daughters, Emily McNair of
Forrest City, Ark., Shirley Breeden of Abilene and Nancy Henthorne
of Stamford; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.

Adan Sanchez
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Adan Sanchez, formerly of Stamford, died
Wednesday in a local hospital.
Mass was celebrated Saturday in Queen of Angels Catholic Church
with the Rev. Paul Juniet officiating. Graveside services were
in Hillcrest Cemetery in Gallup, N.M. with Deacon Juan Bustamante
officiating, directed by French Mortuary.
Mr. Sanchez was born in Stamford and graduated from the University
of Oklahoma with a master's degree. He toured the U.S. and United
Kingdom with his one-man show, "Sacred Journey." He
also appeared at the Eugene O'Neill Theater and Mark Taper Forum
in Los Angeles in "Black Elk Speaks." At the time of
his death, he was acting in the PBS series, "Wishbone."
In Albuquerque, he was an actor and director of "Thugs to
Majica" and a children's Christmas play in 1996. He worked
with disadvantaged youth.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Sanchez of Albuquerque;
his parents, Jesse and Lola Sanchez of Stamford; two brothers,
Michael Ray Sanchez of Abilene and Jesse James Sanchez of western
Australia; two sisters, Gloria Thompson of Stamford and Lynn Sanchez
of Abilene; one niece and three nephews; and his grandmother,
Aurora Sanchez of Abilene.
The Rev. B.W. Goodson
SASAKWA, Okla. - The Rev. Bueford Wade Goodson, 73, formerly
of Abilene, died Sunday in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Sasakwa First Baptist
Church with the Rev. Norman Rushing officiating. Burial will be
in Roosevelt Cemetery in Roosevelt, Okla., directed by Stout Funeral
Home of Wewoka, Okla.
Rev. Goodson was born in Wortham and served with the U.S. Marine
Corps during World War II. He married Kitty Lou Reeves in 1945.
He worked as a pressman at the Abilene Reporter-News for five
years and was a Baptist minister in Texas and Oklahoma for 45
years. He pastored Sasakwa First Baptist Church for six years.
Survivors include his wife, of Sasakwa; two sons, Craig Goodson
of Wichita Falls and Andy Goodson of Hollis, Okla.; one daughter,
Dena Blaise of Blair, Okla.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
J.T. Harmes
COLEMAN - J.T. Harmes, 74, race horse trainer for the past
25 years, died Sunday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Stevens Funeral Home
Chapel with the Revs. Paul Smith and David Jenkins officiating.
Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mr. Harmes was born in Rockdale and lived in Coleman most of
his life. He attended school in Coleman and served with the U.S.
Army's 142nd Infantry, Co. B. He married Warene White in 1947
in Floydada and was a member of Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; three daughters, Patsy
Gray of Denver, Bobbie Kaye Winter of Gatesville and Melisa Mayo
of Coleman; one brother, Jimmy Quinn of Coleman; two sisters,
Florence Ray of Coleman and Emily Fulcher of Georgetown; seven
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and
nephews.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Babe Gray Herring
BRECKENRIDGE - Babe Gray Herring, 83, died Monday in Breckenridge.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Caddo Cemetery
with the Rev. Johnny Miller officiating, directed by Morehart
Mortuary.
Mrs. Herring was born in Caddo in Stephens County, where she
attended school, and lived in Mineral Wells, McCamey, Crane, Weatherford
and Farmington, N.M. She attended barber school in Austin and
worked as a barber in Alaska. She owned Laundry Mate in Mineral
Wells. While living in Breckenridge in the late 1970s, she worked
at Maridee Coffee Shop and Villa Haven Nursing Home.
Survivors include one son, Dal Herring of Evansville, Ind.;
one sister, Gladys Aldrich of Bastrop; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren;
and two nieces and three nephews.
Memorials may be made to Salvation Army and left at the funeral
home.
T.A. Higgins
T.A. Higgins, 70, died Tuesday in a local nursing home. Services
are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Toni Ware
SWEETWATER - Toni Ware, 39, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services are pending with Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Audine Billie Mahoney
BRECKENRIDGE - Audine Billie Mahoney died Tuesday in a local
hospital. Services are pending with Morehart Mortuary.
Velma Maudie Mae Logsdon
DE LEON - Velma Maudie Mae Logsdon, 85, of La Crosse, Wis.,
died Sunday in La Crosse. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m.

BALLINGER - Estelle DeLay, 84, died Tuesday in a San Angelo

DE LEON - Lillian Louise Oglesby, 77, died Monday in a local

Mary Ida Bonser
COMANCHE - Mary Ida Bonser, 86, of Dallas, died Monday in a
Dallas hospital. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in
Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County, directed by Comanche
