R.L Napier
RANGER - R.L. Napier, 79, died Saturday at an Eastland hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Second Baptist Church
with the Rev. Terry Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Napier was born in Mountain Home, Ark., and moved to Bakersfield,
Calif., as a child. He moved to Olden in 1946 and worked in road
construction for many years before joining Southern Airways at
Fort Wolters in Mineral Wells. He retired from Edo-Air Mitchell
in Mineral Wells. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He
married Ruth Hall in 1939 in Carson City, Nev.
Survivors include three daughters, Norma Jacoby and Betty Tibbels,
both of Ranger, and Verna Gailey of Eastland County; six grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
John Lopez Roa
ASPERMONT - John Lopez Roa, 77, died Friday in Lawton, Okla.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Aspermont
Cemetery with the Rev. John Rose Hayden officiating, directed
by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Roa was born in Stonewall County and worked for the city
of Lawton for several years. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Roa of Walters, Okla., and
Joseph Roa of Waynesboro, Pa.; eight brothers, Tony Roa of Aspermont,
Pete Roa of Amarillo, Mike Roa and Jesse Roa, both of Lubbock,
Justin Roa of Liberal, Kan., Robert Roa of Pueblo, Colo., Joe
Roa of Fort Worth and Wally Roa; four sisters, Jane Salazar of
Aspermont, Florence Rivera of Tahoka and Eurelia Grove and Ramona
Behne, both of Guymon, Okla.; and one grandchild.
Freddie Kaye Clark
GORDON - Freddie Kaye Clark, 53, a retired law enforcement
officer, died Saturday in Gordon after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church
with Rick Roberson and Randy Smith officiating. Burial will be
in Exray Cemetery in Erath County, directed by Edwards Funeral
Home of Strawn.
Mrs. Clark was born in Fort Worth and graduated from Gordon
High School. She was retired from the Euless Police Department.
She moved to Hot Springs Village, Ark., and was an officer with
the police department there.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Clark; two brothers,
Glen Michael Grigsby of Arlington and Rick Clark of Fort Worth;
two daughters, Rene' Kamper of Colleyville and Shelley Hall of
Alvord; her mother, Lou Nelle Miller of Gordon; one sister, Barbara
Venable of Gordon; one brother, Larry Duffey of Corsicana; 11
grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today.
Bryant Conner
HAMLIN - Bryant Conner, 96, of Clyde and formerly of Hamlin,
died Saturday at an Abilene hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m.
Tuesday at Foster-Adams Funeral Home with the Rev Marshall Stewart
officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Conner was born in Iredell and moved to Hamlin in 1913.
He attended Hamlin schools and operated the Hamlin movie theater
for 37 years. He also worked for Dr. M.L. Smith for 17 years.
He was a retired volunteer firefighter and moved to Clyde in 1991.
He married Winnie Miller in 1939 in Hamlin.
Survivors include his wife, of Clyde; one daughter, Yvonne
Barr of Clyde; one brother, Travis Conner of Hamlin; two granddaughters
and five great-grandchildren.
Wilburn Ball
SPUR - Wilburn F. Ball, 74, died Sunday in Lubbock.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist
Church with the Rev. Larry Burton and Eric Swenson officiating.
Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery, directed by Campbell
Funeral Home.
Mr. Ball was born in Grayson County and lived in Spur most
of his life. He graduated from Spur High School in 1943 and owned
Spur Laundry from 1946-1971. He bought Spur Feed Store in 1973
and retired in 1997. He was a board member of Caprock Telephone
Company and an honorary member of Spur National Honor Society.
He married Ila Draper in 1945 in Spur.
Survivors include his wife, of Spur; two sons, Rickey Ball
of Georgetown and Benny Ball of Spur; three brothers, Lester Ball
and Donald Ray Ball, both of Spur, and Roy Lee Ball of California,
Mo.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Dickens County EMS or Spur Volunteer
Fire Department.
William Eugene 'Bill' Hitchcock
THROCKMORTON - William Eugene "Bill" Hitchcock, 56,
died Saturday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Throckmorton
Cemetery with Tommy Davis officiating, directed by Merriman-Archer
Funeral Home.
Mr. Hitchcock was born in Mertzon and moved to Throckmorton
from Snyder in 1995. He was a retired backhoe operator and a veteran
of the Vietnam War era.
Survivors include one son, Billy Kyle Hitchcock of Burleson;
two daughters, Kelli Thompson of Throckmorton and Tobie Clark
of Breckenridge; his mother, Verdie Powell of Graham; four sisters,
Ada Smith and Doris Mitchell, both of Woodson, Ruthie MacArthur
of Graham and Martha Henry of Coahoma; one brother, Leroy Hitchcock
of Coahoma; and four grandchildren.
Kevin Guy Ruff
ALBANY - Kevin Guy Ruff, 21, formerly of Albany, died Saturday
at a Shreveport, La., hospital after a traffic accident. Services
are pending with Morehart Mortuary.
Bill Hunter
COLEMAN - Bill Hunter, 61, of Burkett died Sunday at a local
hospital. Services are pending with Walker Funeral Home.
Franklin Whitley
GAINESVILLE - Franklin Whitley, 65, who was born in Ballinger,
died Saturday at a local hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m.
Tuesday at Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel.

SPUR - Roy Don Hodges, 58, died Saturday at a Lubbock hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 am. today in Girard Cemetery
in Girard, directed by Campbell Funeral Home.

SWEETWATER - Edith Hollowell, 88, died Sunday at a local hospital.

SNYDER - Robert Glenn Davis, 39, died Sunday at a Lubbock hospital
after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at
