Henry Herpeche
Henry M. Herpeche, 77, formerly of Abilene, died Thursday in
a San Angelo hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rose Hill Cemetery
in Merkel with the Rev. Sam Arp officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski
Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Herpeche was born in Stamford and was a retired U.S. Air
Force staff sergeant. He served during World War II and the Korean
War. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Herpeche of San Angelo;
and several nieces and nephews.
Norman Ray Green
MERKEL -- Norman Ray Green, 62, died Thursday in Eden.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church
with the Revs. Bill Scott and Rob Seale officiating. Burial will
be in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.
Mr. Green was born in Oklahoma and served with the U.S. Army.
He married Ann Tatom in 1959 and worked as a truck driver for
10 years until retiring. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Merkel; one son, Dennis Green
of San Antonio; one daughter, Donna Riggan of Merkel; one brother,
J.T. Green of Lubbock; and two grandchildren.
Edward Hueske
JAYTON -- Edward E. Hueske, 78, died Thursday in a Lubbock
hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Jayton First Baptist Church
with the Rev. David Fletcher officiating. Burial will be on the
family farm in Girard, directed by Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.
Mr. Hueske was born in Brenham, where he attended school, and
graduated from Texas A&M University in 1943. He was a captain
with the U.S. Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart
and bronze star medal. After participating in the Battle of the
Bulge, he was awarded the Croix De Guerre. He retired from the
Bureau of Commercial Fisheries in 1971 as chief of the Branch
of Federal Aide. He married Dorothy Green in 1995 and was a deacon
at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Jayton; one son, Edward Hueske
of Coppell; one daughter, Betty Ann Hueske of Arlington, Va.;
three stepsons, Virgil Judy of San Antonio, Kenneth Judy of Crawford
and Harold Judy of Missouri City; one stepdaughter, Sharon Brown
of Spur; three sisters, Eleanor Greene of Fort Worth, and Edna
Lampe and Helen Clark, both of Brenham; and 10 grandchildren.
Carolyn Lee Forbes McMillan
MCCAULLEY -- Carolyn Lee Forbes McMillan, 51, of California
and formerly of McCaulley, died Tuesday in Grass Valley, Calif.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Foster-Adams Funeral Home
Chapel in Hamlin with the Rev. James Brigham officiating. Burial
will be in McCaulley Cemetery.
Mrs. McMillan was born in McCaulley, where she graduated from
high school in 1965, and was a homemaker. She moved to California
several years ago.
Survivors include her husband, Steve McMillan of Oregon House,
Calif.; one son, Michael Lee Hogan of California; one daughter,
Carrie Michelle Hogan of Florida; her father, E.D. "Pete"
Forbes of McCaulley; two sisters, Jane Holland of Richardson and
Elaine Williams of Huntsville, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Barbara Trussell
HASKELL -- Barbara Trussell, 62, died Wednesday at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Haskell First Baptist
Church with the Rev. Jim Turner officiating. Burial will be in
Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Trussell was born in Las Cruces, N.M., and married Robert
C. Trussell in 1957 in Boxy Farms, N.M. She was a homemaker and
moved to Haskell in 1988. She worked as a cook at Rice Springs
Care Home and was member of Order of the Eastern Star and First
Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Haskell; one daughter, Pam
Steele of Haskell; her mother and stepfather, Pamela and Truman
Howard of Artesia, N.M.; two brothers, Jimmy Alexander and Dewayne
Howard, both of Artesia, N.M.; one sister, Rita Butts of Artesia,
N.M.; and three grandchildren.
Vaughn Nevans Sr.
BROWNWOOD -- Vaughn Nevans Sr., 62, of Mansfield and formerly
of Brownwood, died Thursday after a two-year bout with lung cancer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Davis-Morris Funeral Home
Chapel with Richard Jones officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn
Memorial Park.
Mr. Nevans was born in Brownwood and graduated from Brownwood
High School in 1953 and North Texas State College in 1957. He
married Beth Wages in 1962 and was a member of Madill Church of
Christ in Madill, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, of Mansfield; two sons, Forrest
"Chuck" Vaughn Nevans Jr. of Garland and Alan Nevans
of Arlington; one daughter, Pam Jennings of Arlington; one sister,
Sharron Miller of Galveston; and one grandchild.
Memorials may be sent to Community Hospice of Texas or American
Cancer Society.
Lydia Laverne Lovvorn
STAMFORD -- Lydia Laverne Lovvorn, 68, died Friday at her home
after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Stamford First Baptist
Church with the Rev. Jay Abernathy officiating. Burial will be
in New Hope Cemetery, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lovvorn was born in Old Glory, where she graduated from
high school in 1948, and married Glynn Lovvorn in 1950 in Sagerton.
She worked as a ward clerk and admissions clerk at Stamford Memorial
Hospital until retiring in 1984. She was a member of First Baptist
Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Stamford; three sons, Mike
Lovvorn of Belton, and Gary Lovvorn and Bob Lovvorn, both of Stamford;
one brother, Weldon Tredemeyer of San Saba; three sisters, Helga
Anderson of Lueders, and Emma Raphelt and Esther Kinman, both
of Stamford; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham
Lane, Abilene 79602.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Minnie Lee Scarlett
CISCO -- Minnie Lee Scarlett, 81, died Thursday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Kimbrough Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Chris Craig officiating. Burial will be in
Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Scarlett was born in Pleasant Hill in Eastland County
and worked as a seamstress at Boss Glove Factory and nurse's aide
at Eastland Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist
Church and was the widow of R.D. Scarlett, whom she married in
San Diego.
Survivors include one son, Dwayne Scarlett of Amboy, Wash.;
one sister, Virgie Gregg of Cisco; three grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.
Juanita Faye Bradshaw
Juanita Faye Bradshaw, 75, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S.
Hwy 277 South.
Mary 'Dee' Lelek
COLORADO CITY -- Mary "Dee" Lelek, 71, died Friday
at her home. Services are pending with Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
William Pierce Jr.
William S. Pierce Jr., 12, formerly of Abilene, died Wednesday
in Aurora, Ill. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Crossroads
Church, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Ray Hollister
SNYDER -- Ray O. Hollister, 91, died Friday in a local care
center after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday
in First Assembly of God, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral
Home.
Fred Winslett
HAMLIN -- Fred Winslett, 64, died Friday in an Irving nursing
home. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Neinda
Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mable Armina Taylor
GOLDTHWAITE -- Mable Armina Taylor, 86, died Friday in Comanche.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home
Chapel.
