William Pierce Jr.

William S. Pierce Jr., 12, formerly of Abilene, died July 15 in Aurora, Ill.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Crossroads Church with the Rev. Kevin York officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. Hwy. 277 South.

William was born in Abilene and was an honor roll student with perfect attendance.

Survivors include his parents, William and Rosamaria Pierce Sr. of Aurora; two sisters, Cherie M. Pierce and Gwendolyn A. Pierce; and grandparents Raymond A. and Betty M. Pierce of Abilene and Lidia Ramirez of Puebla, Mexico.

Walter Harrison Nugent

Walter Harrison Nugent, 78, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy. 277 South, with the Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. Entombment will be in Elmwood Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mr. Nugent was born in Converse, La., and graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a bachelor's degree. He was a Naval Reserve veteran of World War II and a veteran of the Maritime Service. He was employed by Schlumberger Well Surveying Corporation for 31 years, retired in 1979 and became an independent oil operator, analyst and consultant. He was the author of A Revolutionary Interpretation Technique of Carbonate Rocks. He was a charter member and past president of Society of Professional Well Log Analysts and a member of Petroleum Club, American Institute of Mining and Metalurgical Engineers, Geological Society, Society of Petroleum Engineers and Kappa Sigma Alumni Association. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He married Mathilde "Tillie" Waguespack in 1947 in Kilgore.

Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one daughter, Michelle Bauman of Amarillo; one son, Jim Nugent of Abilene; two sisters, Lala Guttry of Kilgore and Teoile Ailstock of Many, La.; two brothers, George Sutherland of Kilgore and John Nugent of Florida; three grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, three nephews and two nieces.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 41, Abilene 79604; American Heart Association, 149 N. Willis, Abilene 79603; or West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene 79605.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6:30-8 p.m. today.

Mollie Martin

BAIRD - Mollie Martin, 91, of Abilene died Monday at her home.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Ross Cemetery with Edgar Martin, Mrs. Martin's son, officiating, directed by Parker Funeral Home.

Mrs. Martin was born in Prague, Okla., and moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1936. She had lived in Abilene for three years. She worked for Ardens Ice Cream Co. and Bordens Ice Cream Plant. She was a Lutheran.

Survivors include one son, Edgar Erich Martin of Gilbert, Ariz.; two daughters, Sarelda Ida Meink and Sheron Browall, both of Abilene; six sisters, Lovie Ellison, Agnes Williams and Doris, all of Prague, Ella Broyles of Tulsa, Okla., Florence Broyles of Phoenix, Ariz., and Vernie Heinzig of Glendale, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robbie Lee Wilson

MERKEL - Robbie Lee Wilson, 87, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gregory Kennedy officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas with the Rev. Bill Dorman officiating, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Abilene and moved to Merkel from Ada, Okla., 15 years ago. She was a bridal consultant and co-owner of Wilson Jewelers in Ada. She was a member of First Methodist Church and was active in various groups. She married T.C. Wilson in 1932 in Durant, Okla.

Survivors include her husband, of Merkel; two sons, Thomas Wilson of Kansas City, Kan., and Richard Wilson of Escondido, Calif.; one daughter, Carol Sue Dorman of Bedford; one sister, Tootsie Manley of Bedford; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Susan Leigh Ruggles Peebles

RANGER - Susan Leigh Ruggles Peebles, 50, died Sunday.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Jerry Maston officiating, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.

Mrs. Peebles was born in Lamesa and graduated from Lamesa High School in 1966 and from business college in Lubbock in 1968. She lived in Okinawa, Andrews and, since 1974, Ranger. She was employed by the Ranger Independent School District and was a member of Ranger 47 Club and Ranger Oaks Street Church, where she was church clerk and treasurer. She married Thomas Ezra Peebles III in 1968 in Ranger.

Survivors include her husband, of Ranger; two sons, Tommy Peebles of Post and PeeWee Peebles of Alpine; her father and stepmother, Hiram and Marsha Ruggles of Big Spring; one sister, Juanette Kaddatz of Weatherford; and one stepsister, Linda Buchanan of Big Spring.

Memorials may be made to Oak Street Church Building Fund.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7:30-8 p.m. today.

Eva Horton

MERKEL - Eva Horton, 81, of Mulberry Canyon died Monday at her home.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in White Church Cemetery in Mulberry Canyon with David Mickey officiating, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Horton was born in Ardmore, Okla., and lived in Edinburg for 30 years before retiring and moving to Mulberry Canyon in 1983. She was secretary and co-owner of Horton Refrigeration in Edinburg. She was a member of Pioneer United Methodist Church. She married Bonnie Horton in 1955 in Corpus Christi.

Survivors include her husband, of Mulberry Canyon; three sisters, Tommie Mang of Austin, Lola Graham of Mississippi and Julie Ray of Levelland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joy Lavelle Worley

CISCO - Joy Lavelle Worley, 56, of Spearman and formerly of Cisco, died Sunday at an Amarillo hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at I-20 Church of Christ with Jim Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.

Mrs. Worley was born in Littlefield and was a special education teacher. She was a cook for Lake Cisco Christian Camp, a baseball coach and a leader for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was a member of Spearman Church of Christ and a foster parent for Spearman Childrens Home. She married Howard Worley Jr. in 1960 in Austin.

Survivors include her husband, of Spearman; four sons, Trace Worley of Spearman, Joey Worley of Fairfield, Donnie Worley of Early and Roy Worley of Waco; one daughter, Hazel Hatcher of Birea, Ohio; one brother, Donnie Dent of Dallas; three sisters, Lou Zoe Williamson of Hemphill, Jo McGill of Lubbock and Pat Davis of Austin; 11 grandchildren and two foster children.

Memorials may be made to Lake Cisco Christian Camp, c/o I-20 Church of Christ, Cisco; or Spearman Children's Home, c/o Spearman Church of Christ, Spearman.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today.

Clifford 'Pepper' Robison

COLEMAN - Clifford "Pepper" Robison, 45, of Lake Coleman died Sunday at his home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.

Mr. Robison was born in Jonesboro, Ark., and grew up and attended school in Monahans. He had lived at Lake Coleman since 1988. He was a Navy veteran and graduated from Class A Hospital Corps School in San Diego, Calif. He owned and operated R&R Trucking Company and was a member of Community Baptist Church. He married Lynda Sierra in 1988 in Coleman.

Survivors include his wife, of Lake Coleman; three sons, Coby Joe Robison of San Marcos and Cory Wayne Robison and Chad Alan Robison, both of Lake Coleman; his mother, Darlene Robison of Lake Coleman; two brothers, Larry Robison of Houston and Teddy Robison of San Antonio; and several other relatives.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham Lane, Abilene 79602; or Coleman County Medical Center, 301 S. Pecos, Coleman 76834.

The family will be at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today.

William Earl Wiseman

HASKELL - William Earl Wiseman, 80, died Sunday at a Lubbock hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Troy Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Wiseman was born in Haskell and was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Dowell in 1982 after 27 years in Hobbs, N.M., Sonora and Midland. He was a member of R.S.V.P. at Lubbock Senior Center. He married Leola Martha Richey in 1950 in Waco.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Betty Gober of Hickory, N.C., and Linda Woodfin of Hobbs; one son, Tony Richey of Montpelier, Vt.; one sister, Emma Bland of Haskell; two brothers, Woodrow Wiseman of East Longmeadow, Mass., and Bill Wiseman of Temple; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity. The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Jim Pratt

DUBLIN - Jim Pratt, 78, died Sunday at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nowlin Funeral Home Chapel.

Patricia Ann LaPorte

Patricia Ann LaPorte, 75, died Monday in Smyrna, Ga. Services are pending with North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.

'Midge' Graves Simmans

MINGUS - "Midge" Graves Simmans, 87, died Monday at a Fort Worth nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mingus Baptist Church, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn.

Clifton Coffman

BIG SPRING - Clifton Coffman, 47, of Coahoma died Monday in Garza County. Services are pending with Myers & Smith Funeral Home.

G.B. 'Red' Harding

BIG SPRING - G.B. "Red" Harding, 80, of Coahoma died Monday at his home. Services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Doris Williams

BIG SPRING - Doris Williams, 67, of Knott died Monday at her home. Services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Marjorie Rainwater

BIG SPRING - Marjorie Rainwater, 89, died Monday at her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, directed by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

W.V. 'Tuffy' Youngblood

W.V. "Tuffy" Youngblood, 71, of Abilene died Monday at a local hospital. Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Barbara Tredaway

BIG SPRING - Barbara Tredaway, 65, died Sunday at a Hondo nursing home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
