Richard Ike 'Baba' Johnson

STAMFORD - Richard Ike "Baba" Johnson, 58, died Friday at his home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in St. John's United Methodist Church with the Revs. L.W. Hutchinson, Robert Yarbrough and Jesse Hooper officiating. Burial will be in Stamford West Cemetery, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson was born in Stamford, where he married Thelma Cook in 1961. He was a retired maintenance worker of Stamford Cotton Oil Mill and was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, of Stamford; two sons, Richard Ike Johnson Jr. of Garland and Kevin L. Johnson of Denton; four stepsons, Michael Reed and Aylois Cook, both of Stamford, Vernon Jones of Abilene and Darrell Cook of Dallas; two daughters, Joy Denise Johnson of Denton and Shannon Johnson of North Carolina; four stepdaughters, Marilyn Sparks and Karen McGee, both of Stamford, Vivian Bolden of Dallas and Sandra Sanders of Fort Worth; one brother, Cecil Johnson of Stamford; one stepbrother, Willie Tyler of Garland; 33 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Darwin Glenn Hamrick

COMANCHE - Darwin Glenn Hamrick, 61, lifelong Comanche County resident, died Friday in a Dallas hospital.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Longoria and Gerald Burns officiating. Burial will be in Comanche Gardens of Memory.

Mr. Hamrick was born in Floydada and married Carolyn Day in 1974. He was a retired employee of Comanche County Rural Electric and, for the past few years, was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of Comanche; two daughters, Evonda Almgren of Bangs and Lisa Paul of Huntsville; his father, C.J. Hamrick of Comanche; one sister, Martha Parker of De Leon; three brothers, H.W. Hamrick of De Leon, Edwin Hamrick of Comanche and Gary Hamrick of Bangs; and eight grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Comanche Public Library or a favorite charity.

Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

James Corley

STAMFORD - James H. Corley, 78, of Lubbock and formerly of Stamford, died Friday in a Lubbock care center.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Bethel Baptist Church in Funston with David Girdner officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Funston, directed by Girdner Funeral Home of Abilene.

Mr. Corley was born in Duncan, Okla., and moved to Stamford at age 4. He graduated from Stamford High School and served with the U.S. Navy aboard the battleship USS Colorado in the South Pacific during World War II. He then moved to Huntington Beach, Calif., and was self employed until retiring in 1985.

Survivors include his stepmother, Ovie M. Corley of Stamford; two sisters, Mary Cantrell and Ruth Havstad, both of Lubbock; and three nieces and one nephew.

Visitation will be at the church after the service.

Jeanette Lemons

COLORADO CITY - Jeanette Lemons, 81, died Thursday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Colorado City First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kay Reed officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lemons was born in Parker County and worked as a licensed vocational nurse in Knox City for several years. She moved to Colorado City in 1953. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and First United Methodist Church and was the widow of Gerald C. Lemons, whom she married in 1953 in Lovington, N.M.

Survivors include one son, Bobby Lemons of Colorado City; four sisters, Zenobia Carnley of Houston, Katie Regan and Mozell Chambers, both of Crosbyton, and Gladys Perry of Lubbock; and two grandchildren.

Henry Edward Watson

COLEMAN - Henry Edward Watson, 73, died Thursday in a local nursing home.

The body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being made by Stevens Funeral Home.

Mr. Watson was born in Alton, N.J., and served with the U.S. Navy from 1942-52. He moved to Coleman in 1968 and worked at Martin Brick Co. He was the widower of Laurie Slacker Watson, whom he married in 1962.

Survivors include one son-in-law, Ronnie McWhirter; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one nephew and four nieces.

Memorials may be sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College, Coleman 76834; or American Legion Post 308, 205 W. Hall, Bangs 76823.

Donald Rodman Fisk

SNYDER - Donald Rodman Fisk, 70, died Thursday in a Lubbock hospital after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Calvary Baptist Church, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Gillie Lewis Wells

COMANCHE - Gillie Lewis Wells, 78, formerly of Snyder, died Wednesday at his home after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Nazarene Church in Snyder, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home of Snyder.

Naomi Humphries

SWEETWATER - Naomi G. Humphries, 84, of Fort Worth and formerly of Sweetwater, died Thursday in a Fort Worth hospital. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Sweetwater Cemetery, directed by Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
