Bruce Alexander Duval
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Bruce Alexander Duval, 79, formerly
of Abilene, died July 26 in Fort Collins.
A memorial service was held July 30. Graveside services will
be at 10 a.m. Friday in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene.
Mr. Duval was born in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High
School and McMurry University. He was a B-17 and B-24 pilot with
the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and earned two bronze
stars. He married Jane Elizabeth Buzbee in 1949 in Abilene. He
worked for Humble Oil Co. and also owned a Humble service station
in Odessa for several years. He then was a comptroller for West
Texas Concrete Co. He moved in 1962 to Roswell, N.M., where he
was employed by First National Bank. He moved to Fort Collins
in 1970 and was senior vice president and a director of Rocky
Mountain Bank until retiring in 1984. He was a 32nd degree Mason
and was a member of Odessa Chuck Wagon Gang, Bible Study Fellowship
and Fort Collins First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Fort Collins; three sons, John
R. Duval of Fort Collins, Bruce "Chip" A. Duval Jr.
of Denver and Richard B. Duval of Westminster, Colo.; two brothers,
Jesse B. Duval and Evan Duval Jr., both of Lubbock; and three
grandchildren.

Paula Coffee Brock
LORAINE -- Paula Coffee Brock, 61, of Abilene and formerly
of Loraine, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
The body was cremated. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m.
Thursday in Loraine First United Methodist Church with the Rev.
James Merrell officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home
of Colorado City.
Ms. Brock was born in Loraine and was a nursing home worker
in the Loraine area until retiring in 1993. She then moved to
Abilene.
Survivors include one son, Robert Brock of St. Louis.
Virginia 'Jody' Howell Alexandre
WEATHERFORD -- Virginia "Jody" Howell Alexandre,
68, formerly of Abilene, died Monday in a Fort Worth hospital
after a long illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Galbreaith-Pickard
Funeral Chapel with Stephen Lowrie officiating. Burial will be
in Clark Cemetery.
Mrs. Alexandre attended school in Weatherford and graduated
from Hampton Roads College in Virginia. She worked as a real estate
agent in Abilene before becoming ill.
Survivors include her husband, Francis Alexandre of Abilene;
one daughter, Kathryn Sue Wilson of Godley; two stepdaughters,
Natalie Holmes and Susan Alexandre, both of Fort Worth; two sisters,
Juanita Howell of Fort Worth and Wanda Cope of Arlington; one
brother, Frank Howell of Weatherford; six grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert Partida
BANGS -- Robert Partida, 39, died Sunday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in New Testament Holiness
Church with the Rev. Ronnie White officiating. Burial will be
in Bangs Cemetery, directed by Bangs Funeral Home.
Mr. Partida was born in Yoakum and married Elsa Ybarra in 1983
in Fredericksburg. He moved to Bangs in 1989 and was a member
of New Testament Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Bangs; his father, Sipriano
D. Partida of Bangs; five sisters, Rumaldo Rivera of Fredericksburg,
Virginia Gonzales, Lucy Perez and Patricia Perez, all of Bangs,
and Helen Olson of Denver; five brothers, Frank Partida of Fredericksburg,
John Partida of Denver, Jim Partida of Leming, Sipriano Partida
Jr. of Brownwood and Martin Partida of Austin; and 25 nieces and
nephews.
James Melton Gray
STAMFORD -- James Melton Gray, 70, of West Columbia and formerly
of Stamford, died Sunday in a Sweeny hospital after a lengthy
illness.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Highland Memorial
Cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Morton officiating, directed by Tankersley
Funeral Home.
Mr. Gray was born in Stamford and served with the U.S. Army
during World War II. He was a retired welder and butcher. He was
a Baptist and was the widower of Dorothy Marie Haddock Gray, whom
he married in 1949 in Stamford.
Survivors include one son, Eddie L. Gray of Old Ocean; one
daughter, Cathy Pippin of Stamford; one sister, Linda Moore of
Stamford; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

BIG SPRING -- Joe Puga, 41, of Houston and formerly of Big
Spring, died Monday in a Houston hospital. Services are pending
with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

HAMLIN -- Lee Flowers, 71, died Monday in Jones County. Services
are pending with Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Ethel Hickson
BIG SPRING -- Ethel A. Hickson, 92, of Rowlett and formerly
of Big Spring, died Monday in a Rowlett nursing home. Services
are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Clara Ashton
BALLINGER -- Clara A. Ashton, 85, died Tuesday at her home.
Private graveside services will be Friday in Evergreen Cemetery,
directed by Rains-Seale Funeral Home.
George Nelson Churchwell
BROWNWOOD -- George Nelson Churchwell, 75, died Monday in an
Abilene hospital after a brief illness. Services will be at 4
p.m. today in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel.
Brady Newnham
BRECKENRIDGE -- Brady M. Newnham, 84, died Tuesday in a local
nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Melton Funeral
Home Chapel.
