Patsy Ruth Tucker
Patsy Ruth Tucker, 60, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Funeral Home
Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with Paul Hull officiating. Burial
will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Tucker was born in Kaufman and was a member of Fellowship
Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, John Tucker of Abilene, James
Tucker of Tuscola and Gary Tucker of Tye; one daughter, Tammie
Henry of Abilene; one sister, Betty Dean of Houston; nine grandchildren;
and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
William Vines Peeples
ANDREWS -- William Vines Peeples, 72, of Abilene and formerly
of Andrews, died Saturday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Andrews First Baptist
Church Chapel with Rev. Michael O. Patterson officiating. Burial
will be in Andrews Old Cemetery, directed by McNett Funeral Home.
Mr. Peeples was born in Tula, Miss., and attended school in
Lamesa and Andrews. He moved to Andrews in 1941. He served with
the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II and
received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He married Joy Dell Stewart
in 1951 in Andrews. He worked as an electrician for Exxon from
1948 until retiring in 1983 and lived in Andrews, Robert Lee,
Big Spring and Crane. He moved to Abilene two weeks ago from Lake
Brownwood and was a member of Exxon Annuitant Club at Lake Proctor
and Rocky Creek Baptist Church at Lake Brownwood.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Terry Wayne
Peeples of Lubbock; three daughters, Billie Joyce Carruth of Midland,
Betty Janice Poorman of Abilene and Patti Jane Tout of Austin;
two brothers, Bobby Ray Peeples of Odessa and Joe Peeples of Roswell,
N.M.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five step
great-grandchildren.
Truett Fry
BROWNWOOD -- Truett Fry, 97, died Friday in a local nursing
home.
Graveside services with Masonic rites will be at 4 p.m. today
in Eastlawn Memorial Park, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Fry was born in Sudan and moved to Brownwood in the 1950s.
He owned and operated a service station, feed store and laundromat
before retiring. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
Jo Nell Gary Rice
Jo Nell Gary Rice, 75, of Dallas and formerly of Abilene, died
Saturday in a local care center. Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil
Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
William 'Gene' Brown
William E. "Gene" Brown, 58, died Saturday in an
Anson care center. Services are pending with Allen-Korzenewski
Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Alma Brooks
Alma L. Brooks, 68, died Friday in a local hospital. Services
are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Frank Jircik
HASKELL -- Frank Jircik, 80, died Saturday in a Burleson hospital.
Services are pending with Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Angie Honeycutt
BIG SPRING -- Angie Honeycutt, 36, died Friday. Services are
pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Louise Hicks
HASKELL -- Louise Hicks, 57, died Saturday in a local nursing
home. Services are pending with Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Andrea Castillo Pacheco
SNYDER -- Andrea Castillo Pacheco, 81, died Saturday at her
home after a long illness. Services are pending with Wright-Colonial
Funeral Home.
Peggy Jennell Polston
MERKEL -- Peggy Jennell Polston, 57, died Saturday in an Abilene
hospital. Services are pending with Starbuck Funeral Home.
Maximo Alvarado
SWEETWATER -- Maximo Alvarado, 95, died Saturday in a local
hospital. Graveside services were Saturday in Sweetwater Cemetery.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. today in Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah's Witnesses, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Herman Kopp Sr.
PRIDDY -- Herman Kopp Sr., 93, died Friday in a Hamilton hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Zion Lutheran Church, directed
by Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home of Goldthwaite.
