Dolores Simmering
Dolores E. Simmering, 66, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Elmwood Funeral Home
Chapel, 5750 Highway 277 South with the Rev. David Cason of Broadview
Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial
Park.
Mrs. Simmering was born in Bovina, Colo., and moved from Oregon
to Abilene in 1967. She worked for the <I>Abilene Reporter-News,<I>
Employers Insurance Company and the city of Abilene. She was a
member of Broadview Baptist Church, West Texas Genealogical Society,
The Society of Mayflower Descendants, Daughters of the American
Revolution, John Howland Society and other patriotic and genealogical
organizations.
Survivors include one son, Pete Simmering of Abilene; three
daughters, Janeen Montgomery of Hobart, Okla., Sue Scaglione of
Plano and Melissa Simmering of Abilene; two brothers, Duane Kaufman
of Denver and Dean Kaufman of Flagler, Colo.; one sister, Dorothy
Mitchell of Depauville, New York; three grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.

Rafaela de la Cruz Charo
Rafaela de la Cruz Charo, 88, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic
Church with the Rev. David Matz officiating. Burial will be in
Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542
Hickory. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral
home.
Born in Castroville, Mrs. Charo married Trinidad Cruz Charo
Jr. in Pleasanton in 1930. The couple moved to Abilene in 1950.
Mrs. Charo was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Catholic
Church.
Survivors include one son, Alfredo Solis Charo of Abilene;
two daughters, Mary C. Aranda and Natividad Lopez, both of Abilene;
25 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews.
Wilton Hershel Henry
Wilton Hershel Henry, 89 died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Belen, N.M.,
Cemetery directed by Romero Funeral Home. Local arrangements were
made by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. His body was
cremated.
Mr. Henry was born in Gatesville and attended public schools
in Merkel and House, N.M. He married Addie Jim Hedrick in Clovis,
N.M. After she died, he married Josephine Butler in Belen. A retired
heavy equipment operator, Mr. Henry moved three years ago from
Belen to Abilene, where he attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Estes of Abilene and
Ruth Carter of Roswell, N.M.; one stepson, Henry Clark Baisdon
of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; one sister, Mozell Martin of Clovis;
seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Raul Maldonado Ybarra
FORT WORTH - Raul Maldonado Ybarra, 59, a former teacher at
Fannin Elementary School in Abilene, died Wednesday.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter Catholic
Church with the Rev. Tim Thompson officiating. Burial will be
in Greenwood Memorial Park, directed by Thompson's Harveson &
Cole Funeral Home.
Mr. Ybarra was born in Roby. A graduate of McMurry University,
he taught at Fannin Elementary from 1972-1986 and was a member
of Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene. He moved to Fort Worth
three years ago, where he was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Castro Ybarra; two daughters,
Alice Ybarra-Heatherly of Arlington and Sylvia Ann Ramirez of
Fort Worth; one son, David Paul Ybarra of Arlington; two brothers,
Ismael Ybarra of Kansas City, Kan., and Richard Gomez of San Antonio;
four sisters, Connie Gomez and Hortensia Gonzales, both of Fort
Worth, and Eloisa Rodriguez and Lydia Torres, both of Sweetwater;
and five grandchildren.
Fannie Mae Parsley
HOUSTON - Fannie Mae Parsley, 86, formerly of Abilene, died
Wednesday in a Houston hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Sunday in Cookville Cemetery
in Mt. Pleasant.
Born in Titus County, Mrs. Parsley moved with her family to
Hall County, where she married Robert Murrel Parsley. The couple
moved to Abilene, where she was a school teacher for 33 years.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Rees Parsley of Galveston
and William Robert Parsley of San Antonio; one daughter, Frances
Ann Parsley McAnear of Houston; one brother, William Smith Rees
of Mt. Pleasant; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church Organ Fund,
7401 Katy Freeway, Houston 77024.
Visitation will be from 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Eunice Lee McClellan
COLEMAN - Eunice Lee McClellan, 81, died Thursday at home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Stevens Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Roger Hammonds officiating. Burial will be
in Hill Cemetery, directed by Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. McClellan was born in Coleman County and grew up in the
Fisk and Hill communities. She attended school there and also
in Voss and Brown Ranch. She married Lester A. McClellan in Coleman
in 1933, and the couple lived in Hill, Anderson and Liberty in
Coleman County before moving to Coleman. She was a homemaker and
a member of First Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School
class.
Survivors include her husband of Coleman; one daughter, Carolyn
McClellan of Coleman; two sons, Charles McClellan of Abilene and
Billy McClellan of Waco; one brother, Aulden Rumfield of Carlsbad,
N.M.; three sisters, Vivian Chupp of De Leon, Shirley Horton of
Mansfield and Betty Crow of Amarillo; six grandchildren and ten
great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church, 200 E. College,
Coleman 76834, or a favorite charity.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
Verda Smith
WINTERS - Verda M. Smith, 89, died Wednesday at a local nursing
home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Winters Funeral
Home Chapel with Truman Turk and Roy Austin officiating. Burial
will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Stroud, Okla., and came to Winters as
a small child. She married James E. "Buck" Smith in
Winters in 1927 and was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist
Church and the Diversity Club.
Survivors include two sons, James E. Smith of Roosevelt, Utah,
and David Smith of Winters; one daughter, Karen Austin of Dallas;
one sister, Nettie Bentley of Coleman; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren
and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Pearl Brinson Smith
DUBLIN - Pearl Brinson Smith, 99, of Richland Hills, died Wednesday
in a Hurst nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Proctor Cemetery in
Proctor with Dr. Kyle Davis officiating, directed by Harrell Funeral
Home.
rs. Smith was born in Comanche County and married Ponnie Edward
Smith in Proctor in 1919. She was a homemaker and a member of
Proctor Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Eunice Harbin of North Richland
Hills, Juanita Erwin of Stephenville and Pauline Hunter of Mount
Pleasant, Pa.; two sons, J.C. Smith of Dublin and Edward Smith
of Muskogee, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and
four great-great-grandchildren.

Robert 'Bob' Richardson
COLORADO CITY - Robert C. "Bob" Richardson, 49, died
Monday in Abilene.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Colorado
City Cemetery with the Rev. Kay Reed officiating, directed by
Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Richardson was born in Colorado City, where he graduated
from high school in 1967. He graduated from McMurry College with
a bachelor's degree in business administration and worked for
C.G. Conn and Lockheed Martin in Abilene before retiring several
years ago.
Survivors include one brother, Dick Richardson of Fort Worth;
two nephews and numerous cousins.

Clarence Calvin Price, 90, died Thursday in a local hospital.

Robert Smith
Robert Smith, 85, died Thursday in a local hospital. Services

HAMLIN - Marlene Goodgame, 64, died in an Abilene hospital.

Martha Taylor, 84, died Sunday in a local hospital. Graveside

BRECKENRIDGE - Thelma LaFern Russell, 74, died Tuesday in a

BIG SPRING - Dr. R. Gage Lloyd, 92, of eastern Tennessee, formerly
of Big Spring, died Thursday in Tennessee. Services will be at
