Juanita Baker
Juanita E. Baker, 76, of Abilene died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel,
5750 Highway 277 South, with the Revs. Jimmy Smithee and Johnny
Snow officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Baker was born in Decatur and attended school in Greenwood.
She moved to Abilene from Albany in 1957. She was a homemaker
and a member of Elmcrest Baptist Church. She married Floyd Baker
in 1944 in Hershey, Pa.
Survivors include her husband of Abilene; three sons, Douglas
E. Baker of Cape Canaveral, Fla., J.R. Baker of Burkburnett and
Ronnie Baker of Abilene; two daughters, Linda Snow of Austin and
Paula G. Miller of Waco; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

William Raymond 'Billy' Gray
William Raymond "Billy" Gray, 45, of Abilene died
Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Potosi Baptist Church
with the Rev. Donny Harbers officiating. Burial will be in Potosi
Cemetery, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N.
2nd.
Mr. Gray was born in Elk City, Okla. He attended Cameron High
School and McMurry University, where he played football. He was
an Army veteran and was a Wal-Mart department manager. He was
a member of Potosi Baptist Church, where he was a charter member
of Promise Keepers, and had been a volunteer fireman in Marion.
Survivors include two sons, Lance Monroe Gray of Seguin and
Marcus O'Neal Gray of Abilene; one daughter, Andrea Lynn Gray
of Abilene; his mother, Darlene Gray of Abilene; a grandmother,
Anna Shadid of Abilene; one brother, Robert Donald Gray of Abilene;
one sister, Kimberlie JoAnna Stacy of Jacksonville; three grandchildren
and two nephews.
Memorials may be made to Potosi Baptist Church, 2826 Potosi
Road, or the American Heart Association, 149 N. Willis, Suite
10, Abilene 79603.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Clinton Little
Clinton T. Little, 70, of Abilene died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral
Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Highway 277 South, with the Rev.
David Cason officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be in Elmwood
Memorial Park.
Mr. Little was born in Goldsboro and attended school in Lawn,
Cameron, Tuscola, Winters and Trent, where he graduated in 1947.
He had lived in Abilene since 1952 and retired after working as
a truck driver for Central Texas Iron Works for 34-1/2 years.
He was a member of Broadview Baptist Church, Hobah Masonic Lodge
1394, Order of Eastern Star Cora Posey Chapter 1072 and Scottish
Rites. He married Mary Ellen Michaels in 1951 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; one daughter, Marilyn
Tennison of Cross Plains; three sons, Jimmy Little and Donnie
Little, both of Abilene, and Gary Little of Springdale, Ark.;
three brothers, Calvin Little of Charlotte, N.C., Bob Little of
College Station and Jim Little of Austin; three sisters, Wanda
McNeill of Fort Worth, Loyce Stanley of Austin and Anne Davis
of Houston; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.

Clara Marie Vaughan
LUBBOCK - Clara Marie Vaughan, 84, died Wednesday at a local
hospital.
Services were Monday at Caprock Church of Christ with Danny
Dow officiating. Burial was in Old Runnels Cemetery in Winters,
directed by Resthaven Funeral Home.
Mrs. Vaughan was born in Teague and moved to Lubbock from Winters
in 1981. She was a nurse and a member of Caprock Church of Christ.
She married Ercel Vaughan in 1930 in Ballinger.
Survivors include her husband of Lubbock; one daughter, Nita
Terry of Lubbock; four sons, Arlen Vaughan of Ballinger, Pat Vaughan
of El Cajon, Calif., Gary Vaughan of Penreath, Australia, and
Jim Vaughan of Abilene; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Caprock Church of Christ.
Alva Wade
ANSON - Alva G. Wade, 85, died Monday at a Tulia care center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church
with the Revs. Lee Welch, James Brigham and Bob Evans officiating.
Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams
Funeral Home.
Mr. Wade was born on the Dee Poland Ranch near Anson and attended
school in the Compere community. He farmed in Jones County until
moving to Swisher County in 1949. He returned to Anson in 1972
and moved to Tulia in 1997. He was a former trustee for Plainview
Community School in Jones County. He married Clara Camilla Viertel
in 1932.
Survivors include his wife of Tulia; one son, Arthur Garland
Wade of Tulia; three brothers, J.B. Wade of Roscoe, Calvin Wade
of Abilene and Brandion Wade of Merkel; four sisters, Odell Casady,
Ennis Are Hestand, Zoella Mae Thompson and Tessie Hester, all
of Merkel; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jewell Laviel Havis
DUBLIN - Jewel Laviel Havis, 91, a lifetime resident of Dublin,
died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Harrell Funeral
Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Roberts officiating.
Burial will be in Cow Creek Cemetery in Erath County.
Mrs. Havis was born in Dublin and was retired after teaching
at Dublin and Comyn for 47 years. She was a member of First Baptist
Church. She married Autrey Havis in 1931 in Dublin; he preceded
her in death.
Survivors include one son, Joe Havis of Houston; two grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.
Robert Cobb
BROWNWOOD - Robert Cobb, 84, died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Davis-Morris Funeral
Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Green officiating. Burial will
be in Zephyr Cemetery.
Mr. Cobb was born in Zephyr and had lived in Brownwood since
1953. He graduated from Zephyr High School and attended Howard
Payne University and Tyler Commercial College. He was an Army
veteran of World War II and a retired salesman for an auto parts
store. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two nieces, two nephews and several great-
and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. today.
Ila Boyd
BROWNWOOD - Ila Boyd, 93, died Monday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Pleasant
Valley Cemetery with Mike McShan officiating, directed by Davis-Morris
Funeral Home.
Mrs. Boyd was born in Brown County, where she lived most of
her life. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married Oley
Boyd in 1920 in Holder; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Alta McShan of Brownwood,
Mathine Morrow of Early and Fern Doyle of Loughlin, Nev.; two
sons, J.D. Boyd of Kalona, Iowa, and Bill Boyd of Odessa; one
sister, Ruie Coffee of Temple; 12 grandchildren and a number of
great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Walter 'Red' McDonald
Walter B. "Red" McDonald, 87, former chief of police,
died Monday at a local hospital. Services are pending with North's
Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Calvin Quinton Young
ODESSA - Calvin Quinton Young, 79, died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Belmont Baptist Church, directed
by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

GOLDTHWAITE - Ray Duren, 84, died Monday at his home. Services

RANGER - Mary Ready, 84, died Monday at a local nursing home.
