Joy Keesee
Joy Keesee, 60, of Abilene died Saturday in Abilene after a
traffic accident.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral
Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Highway 277 South, with Dr. Don
Greenway officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Funston.
Mrs. Keesee was born in Hamby and attended school in Abilene.
She lived in the Abilene area all her life. She was a homemaker
and a member of North Side Baptist Church. She married George
Keesee in 1960 in Abilene.
Survivors include her husband of Abilene; three daughters,
Charlotte Longoria of Comanche, Tonya Cochran of Merkel and Charese
Keesee of Abilene; three brothers, Dub Vinson of Abilene, Charlie
Vinson of Anson and Joe Vinson of Casper, Wyo.; three sisters,
Allene Scott of Abilene, Nancy Fillmon of Clyde and Georgie Willingham
of Guion; seven grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
Memorials may be made to North Side Baptist Church, 2474 Westwood,
Abilene 79603.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Zola Cooper
CISCO - Zola Cooper, 95, died Saturday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kimbrough Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Gary Turner officiating. Burial will be in
Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Cooper was born in Eastland County and was a retired business
manager for Southwestern Bell. She was a member of First United
Methodist Church. She married James Cecil Cooper in 1993 in Cisco.
Survivors include her husband of Cisco; one son, Louis Cooper
of Goldsmith; one daughter, Shirley Wilson of Buffalo, Mo.; one
sister, Ola Frost of Abilene; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.
Ellen Marie Snyder
TUSCOLA - Ellen Marie Snyder, 72, died Saturday at an Abilene
hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church
with the Rev. T.C. Melton officiating. Burial will be in Tuscola
Cemetery, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home.
Mrs. Snyder was born in Baird and lived in Oplin, where she
attended school. She moved to Tuscola in 1972 and owned and operated
a beauty shop in Potosi for 20 years, retiring in 1988. She was
a member of Oplin Baptist Church. She married Harold Snyder in
1942 in Baird..
Survivors include her husband of Tuscola; two sons, Jerry Snyder
of Tuscola and Wayne Jones of Fort Worth; one daughter, Elaine
Vinson of Abilene; one sister, Katie McKnight of Winters; one
half-sister, Lois Mason of San Angelo; 11 grandchildren, nine
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Mac Dell Wood Acklin
SWEETWATER - Mac Dell Wood Acklin, 74, died Sunday at an Abilene
hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel
of Memories with the Revs. Keith Clifton and Lyndel Hix officiating.
Burial will be in Garden of Memories.
Mrs. Acklin was born in Hamlin, graduated from Hamlin High
School and had lived in Sweetwater for more than 45 years. She
worked in food service at Pace Packing, Ridley Packing and Sweetwater
High School for several years. She was a member of Lamar Street
Baptist Church. She married Weldon Wood in 1941 in Hamlin; he
preceded her in death. She married Walter Acklin in 1978 in Anson.
Survivors include her husband of Sweetwater; one daughter,
Sandra Williams of Sweetwater; two sons, Tommy Wood of Sweetwater
and Marvin Waylon of Maryneal; one sister, Floy Lee Lumbley of
San Angelo; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

ROCHESTER - Betty Ann Hollar, 58, died Sunday in Austin. Services
are pending with Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.

HASKELL - Roy "Brutus" Scoggins, 36, died Sunday
at an Abilene hospital. Services are pending with Holden-McCauley

Jeanette Verduzco Boone
STEPHENVILLE - Jeannette Verduzco Boone, 86, died Sunday at
a Glen Rose nursing home. Graveside services will be at 9 a.m.
Tuesday in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, directed by Stephenville
Funeral Home.

James Waldrop, 73, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
