Today's Obituaries (Sept. 24, 1998)

Margarita Vasquez Bustamante

Margaret Bustamante, 71, died Tuesday at her home.

A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with the Rev. David Matz officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Bustamante was born in Barstow, where she married George Bustamante in 1943. She lived for many years in Big Spring, where she was a member of the Crusillistas and Guadalupanas at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a Mariachi singer and moved to Abilene in 1989. She was a member of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; four daughters, Rosemary West of Big Spring, Emelia Paredez of Rankin, Monica Rodriguez of Abilene and Veronica Mancha of Yukon, Okla.; four sons, Antonio Bustamante and George Bustamante, both of Abilene, and Joe Manuel Bustamante and Freddy Bustamante, both of Big Spring; one brother, Jose Vasquez of Monahans; two sisters, Pabla Jaramillo of Austin and Susie Lopez of Oceanside, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Hendrick Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1922, Abilene 79604.

Jordan Micayla Barnett

COLEMAN - Jordan Micayla Barnett, infant daughter of Danny and Brandi Van Pelt Barnett of Coleman, died Monday in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Coleman Cemetery pavilion, directed by Stevens Funeral Home.

Jordan was born in Coleman.

Other survivors include her maternal grandparents, Brenda and Ervin Wells of Silver Valley; her paternal grandparents, Danny and Treva Barnett of Coleman; her great-grandparents, Luberta Preas of Silver Valley, Alice Wells, Dub and Wanda Barnett, all of Coleman, and Geneva Smith of Bangs; her great-great-grandmother, Florence Stearns of Trickham; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Joe Willie Duffie Sr.

BROWNWOOD - Joe Willie Duffie Sr., 77, died Saturday at his home.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Greenleaf Cemetery with the Rev. James B. Hogan officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Mr. Duffie was born in Caldwell and lived in Brown County most of his life. He retired from Plitt Cinema Twin Theater.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Duffie of Brownwood; his ex-wives, Christina Cole and Rosa Lee Coleman; three sons, Roosevelt Duffie and Ricky Riggins, both of Brownwood, and Therman Duffie of College Station; one daughter, Willie Dee Riggins of Brownwood; four brothers, Jim Duffie of Los Angeles, Hava Duffie of Cameron, and Billy Duffie and Albert Duffie, both of Temple; 10 sisters, Isabell Pollick, Marlene Duffie and Arlene Duffie, all of Brownwood, Ester King of Round Rock, Thelma Water of North Carolina, and Jessie Duffie, Mildred Davis, Bobbie Banks, Christine Duffie and Darlene Duffie, all of Temple; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Andrew Foster Miller

COLEMAN - Andrew Foster Miller, 80, died Wednesday in an Arlington hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reed Justus officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.

Mr. Miller was born in Coleman, where he lived for many years, and graduated from Coleman High School, Wesleyan College and Tulsa Christian University. He served in the U.S. Air Force and married Hortense Walker in 1942 in Miami Beach, Fla. He was a coach and teacher in Coleman and Kerrville. He also owned and operated an independent insurance agency in Coleman for 30 years until retiring in 1985. He was mayor of Coleman from 1962-67 and was a member of Kiwanis Club, Coleman Retired Teachers group and Chapel Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Andrew Foster Miller of Santa Rosa, Calif.; one daughter, Ann Miller Clausen of Arlington; two sisters, Jean Adkins of Austin and Dorothy Norris of Canyon; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon Friday in the funeral home.

Ruby Hicks Moore

Ruby Hicks Moore, 78, died Wednesday at her home. Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Mary Leona Burnham

ROTAN - Mary Leona Burnham, 81, died Wednesday in a local hospital. Services are pending with Weathersbee Funeral Home.

Odessa Mae Davis

COMANCHE - Odessa Mae Davis, 84, died Tuesday in a local nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Taylor's Chapel Church, directed by Comanche Funeral Home.

Hazel Leverton

HAWLEY - Hazel Leverton, 88, died Wednesday in Anson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hawley First Baptist Church, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home of Anson.

Elmer Earl Ingram

CISCO - Elmer Earl Ingram, 83, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital. Services will be at 4:30 p.m. today in Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel.

William 'Bill' Jones

FLUVANNA - William A. "Bill" Jones, 66, died Wednesday in a Lubbock hospital. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church in Snyder, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home of Snyder.

Frances McFall

BROWNWOOD - Frances McFall, 97, formerly of Cisco, died Wednesday in a local hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Mountain Top Church in Cisco, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home of Cisco.
