Armando 'Lie' Flores

Armando C. "Lie" Flores, 70, formerly of Abilene, died Sunday in Pacoima, Calif., after a long illness.

Services are pending in California. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. today at Graham Street Church of Christ with Catarino Flores officiating.

Mr. Flores was born in Abilene and was a longtime employee of Caldwell Music Co. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Flores; four daughters, Sylvia Medina of Abilene, Susie Velasquez, Hope Medrano and Margie Gonzales, all of California; four sons, Rick, Armando Jr., Catarino and David Flores, all of California; one brother, Gus Flores, and two sisters, Consuelo Gomez and Esperanza Pallarez, all of Abilene; 30 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

John Sheldon Davis

IDALOU - John Sheldon Davis, 40, died Sunday in Idalou.

Graveside services will be at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in Idalou Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Calvin Gray and Dennis Williams officiating, directed by White Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis was born in Abilene and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor's degree in music. He graduated from West Texas State University with a master's degree in music education. He moved to Idalou in 1995 from Plainview and had lived in Thatcher, Ariz., until 1990. He taught school in Lorenzo and was a member of Texas Band Masters Association, Texas Music Educators Association and First Baptist Church. He married Lisha Jan Harrison in 1984 in Canyon.

Survivors include his wife, of Idalou; one son, Matthew Harrison Davis of Idalou; one daughter, Melody Joy Davis of Abilene; his parents, Bill and Corinne Davis of Austin; and one brother, Bill Davis Jr. of Austin.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 918, Idalou TX 79329.

Eula Faye Simpson

RANGER - Eula Faye Simpson, 82, died Saturday at a local nursing home.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Evergreen Cemetery with Ronnie Guess officiating, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.

Mrs. Simpson was born in Eastland and grew up and graduated from high school in Ranger. She worked for Ranger Florist for more than 15 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Roy Lyon and Wilson Simpson.

Survivors include one brother, Norman Richardson of Ranger, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mary Ruth Hord

WINTERS - Mary Ruth Hord, 56, of Wingate died Sunday at a Midland hospital.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Leroy Stockard officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, directed by Winters Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hord was born in Brady and moved to Winters as a child. She was a secretary for Pool Well Services and a member of Wingate Church of Christ. She married John Prentice Hord in 1964 in Winters.

Survivors include her husband, of Wingate; her mother, Ovella Kate Lindsey of Brady; one son, James Paul Hord of Midland; one sister, Shirley Henderson of Voca; and two grandchildren.

Monica Nicole Parramore

WINTERS - Monica Nicole Parramore, 18, a freshman at Angelo State University, died Monday in Miles.

Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Sam Homsey officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, directed by Winters Funeral Home.

Miss Parramore was born in Winters, where she lived all her life, and graduated from Winters High School in 1998. She was a member of National Honor Society and Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Survivors include her parents, John and Chris Parramore of Winters; grandparents Edna Parramore of Winters and Vernon and Cornell Hoelscher of Olfen; great-grandmother Sarah Halfmann of Olfen; one brother, Wade Parramore, and one sister, Briana Parramore, both of Winters.

James Lee

BRONTE - James A. Lee, 63, of Blackwell died Monday at his home. Services are pending with Shaffer Funeral Home.

Tommy Wilson

SPUR - Tommy D. Wilson, 68, of Jayton died Monday in Lubbock. Services are pending with Campbell Funeral Home.

Lillie Pauline Dyches

Lillie Pauline Dyches, 74, of Abilene died Monday at a local nursing home. Services are pending with Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy. 277 South.

Wynona Hawthorne Portwood

Wynona Hawthorne Portwood, 84, died Monday at a local hospital. Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Mina Fay Tipton

COLEMAN - Mina Fay Tipton, infant, died Sunday at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. today in Coleman Cemetery, directed by Walker Funeral Home.

Darlene Wright Malone

ADA, Okla. - Darlene Wright Malone, 62, formerly of Abilene, died Friday in Ada. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home.

Margaret Trigg

BROWNWOOD - Margaret Trigg died Monday at a local nursing home. Services are pending with Heartland Funeral Home.
