Bernie Elaine Gilmore Livingston

Bernie Elaine Gilmore Livingston, 42, died Thursday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Antioch CME Church with the Rev. V.L. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Mrs. Livingston was born in Abilene, where she attended school. She also attended Cisco Junior College and McMurry University and worked as a teacher's aide in the Head Start pre-school program. She sang in the choir at Antioch CME Church and was the widow of Virgil Livingston, whom she married in 1981 in Abilene.

Survivors include one son, Eric Gilmore of Taylor; her mother, Sallie Gilmore of Abilene; two brothers, Ben Taylor of Dallas and Michael Gilmore of Abilene; two sisters, Margaret Ann Smith of Abilene and Janice Gilmore of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; one aunt; and one niece and one great-niece.

The family will be at 449 Cockerell.

Barbara Sue Brown

Barbara Sue Brown, 57, died Monday at her home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Broadview Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Packwood officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Ms. Brown was born in Thalia and lived in Abilene most of her life. She attended school in Abilene and worked as a secretary at Color Vision. She was member of the Sisters group and Elm Valley Community Church.

Survivors include two sons, Craig Lewis and Jeff Lewis, both of Abilene; two brothers, Kenneth Ferguson and Doyle Ferguson, both of Abilene; four sisters, Wanda Peel of Lake Brownwood, Irene Wheles of Abilene, Ruth Farquhar of Dayton and Pat Vallas of Lancaster, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Duane Shaner

Duane Shaner, 77, supervisor of Mrs. Baird's Pie Shop for 30 years until retiring in 1986, died Thursday in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Eula Cemetery with the Rev. Edwin Headrick officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.

Mr. Shaner was born in Stephens Point, Wis., where he grew up, and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He moved to Abilene and married Jenelle Tarrant in 1943.

Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; three sons, Jimmy W. Shaner of Saginaw, Billy Don Shaner of Eula and Gary Lynn Shaner of Abilene; three sisters, Elaine Kuseck of Abilene, Dorothy Garrison of Bethany, Okla., and Betty Jane Dodd of Oskosh, Wis.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Hendrick Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1922, Abilene 79604.

Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Jack Edward Loveless

OURAY, Colo. - Jack Edward Loveless, 57, formerly of Abilene, died Saturday from injuries received in an airplane crash in Ouray County, Colo.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Montrose Church of Christ in Montrose, Colo. with Terry Ellison officiating, directed by Crippin Funeral Home of Montrose.

Mr. Loveless was born in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo Tascosa High School and the University of Texas. He married his wife in 1968 in Panhandle, Texas, and formerly lived in Texas, Oregon and Alaska. He was a retired aerodynamic engineer and minister. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Montrose, Colo. His daughter, Victoria Loveless, also died in the airplane crash.

Survivors include his wife, Linda S. Loveless of Ouray; one daughter, Sara M. Loveless of Fort Worth; three brothers, Clarence Loveless Jr. of Hawaii, Charles Loveless of Oregon and Richard Loveless of California; and three sisters, Carolyn Lyons of Illinois, Evelyn Roberts of Texas and Lois Tione of California.

Linda Ann Loveless

WESTMINSTER, Colo. - Linda Ann Loveless, 27, formerly of Abilene, daughter-in-law of Jack Loveless, died Saturday from injuries received in an airplane crash in Ouray County, Colo.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Montrose Church of Christ in Montrose, Colo. with Tim Smith officiating, directed by Crippin Funeral Home of Montrose.

Mrs. Loveless was born in Wortham, Texas, and graduated from Coolidge High School, Abilene Christian University and Texas State Technical College. She worked as a dialysis technician and also was a paramedic. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Arvada, Colo., and married David Loveless in 1992 in Denver. He also died in the airplane crash.

Survivors include her mother, Cynthia Holmes of Coolidge; one brother, Michael Holmes of Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany; one sister, Margaret Holmes of Coolidge; and her grandparents, Joel and Carlene Corder of Amarillo.

Mary Ella Webb

COLEMAN - Mary Ella Webb, 76, of Lilburn, Ga., and formerly of Coleman County, died Tuesday in an Atlanta care center.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion, directed by Stevens Funeral Home.

Mrs. Webb was born near Coleman and graduated from Novice High School in 1939. She attended Draughon's Business schools in Abilene and San Antonio and worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. She married Charles E. Webb in 1943 and was a clerk for the Coleman Flying School during World War II. She was again employed by the federal government until retiring in 1988. She helped start the Shiloh Christian Church in the Atlanta area in 1988 and was a membership chairperson for the Democratic Women of Dekalb County.

Survivors include her husband, of Lilburn, Ga.; one daughter, Linda Kay Nash of Cape Coral, Fla.; one son, Michael S. Webb of Lawrenceville, Ga.; one sister, Joy Slack of Coleman County; one brother, A.A. Jarrell Jr. of Fort Worth; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday in the funeral home.

Hoyt 'Pete' Slatton

WICHITA FALLS - Hoyt S. "Pete" Slatton, 89, formerly of Eastland County, died Oct. 6 in a local care center.

Services were Saturday in Wichita Falls First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Russell Dilday officiating. Entombment was in Crestview Memorial Mausoleum, directed by Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Mr. Slatton was born in Scranton and attended Cisco High School and Cisco Junior College. He was a self-employed funeral director and realtor in Dallas until retiring. He moved to Wichita Falls in 1978 and helped start a support group for families of Alzheimer's patients. He was an officer with the Dallas Association of Realtors and was a member of Chapter 237, Order of the Eastern Star. He formerly sang in the choir at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Cliff. He helped start Wichita Falls First Baptist Church's senior choir and support group for families of Alzheimer's patients. He was the widower of Ellen Hooker Slatton.

Survivors include one son, Dr. James H. Slatton of Richmond, Va.; one daughter, Linda Slatton Clark of Fort Worth; three sisters, Eunice Penn and Mary Snead, both of Eastland, and Catherine McCrary of Cisco; and five grandchildren.

Lowell 'Popeye' Sparks

LINGLEVILLE - Lowell "Popeye" Sparks, 80, died Thursday at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel in Stephenville. Burial will be in Lingleville East End Cemetery.

Mr. Sparks was born in Bunyan and lived in Erath County most of his life. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and lived in Odessa from 1952-73. He was a retired firefighter and welder. He was the widower of Jessie Whitefield Sparks, whom he married in 1938 in Lingleville. He married Donna Kathryn Kimball in 1980 in Stephenville and was a member of Lingleville Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Billy Sparks of Clyde and Roger Sparks of Big Spring; one stepson, Steven Kimball of Lancaster; one stepdaughter, Mary Jo Hightower of Spring; two sisters, Bertha Bays of Stephenville and Ruby Lee Stone of De Leon; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Lingleville East End Cemetery Association.

Thomas Pearcy

SWEETWATER - Thomas O. Pearcy, 83, of Lake Sweetwater, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Avondale Baptist Church with the Rev. Cecil Deadman officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.

Mr. Pearcy was born in Gorman and graduated from Carbon High School. He worked for Honolulu Oil Co. for 12 years and Exxon for 20 years until retiring in 1976. He then moved to Sweetwater. He was a member of Avondale Baptist Church and was the widower of Pauline Cornwell Pearcy, whom he married in 1936 in Carbon.

Survivors include two daughters, Polly Martin of Midland and Kim Whitley of Hobbs, N.M.; two sons, Larry Pearcy of Gunnison, Colo., and Tim Pearcy of Sweetwater; seven grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Ora Fay Hardy

Ora Fay Hardy died Wednesday in Round Rock. Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.

Betty Selvera

COLORADO CITY - Betty Selvera, 69, died Thursday in a local hospital. Services are pending with Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Isabel Perez

SNYDER - Isabel Perez, 69, died Wednesday in a Lubbock hospital. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Wright Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Zelma 'Dutch' Eula Wells

DUBLIN - Zelma "Dutch" Eula Wells, 89, died Wednesday in a Stephenville nursing home. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Barbee Cemetery in Erath County, directed by Harrell Funeral Home.

Lillian Dunn

SNYDER - Lillian Dunn, 90, died Wednesday in a local hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lighthouse Assembly of God, directed by Wright Colonial Funeral Home.

Roe Woodroe Allred

MUNDAY - Roe Woodroe Allred, 84, died Thursday in a Knox City hospital. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Johnson Memorial Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.

Thomas William Stewart

DUBLIN - Thomas William Stewart, 79, died Thursday in a Temple hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Harrell Funeral Home Chapel.

Wanda Kellar

EASTLAND - Wanda Kellar, 62, died Thursday in a Fort Worth hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bakker Funeral Home Chapel.

Johnny Huggins

SANTA ANNA - Johnny D. Huggins, 83, of Chico and formerly of Coleman County, died Wednesday in Decatur. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Santa Anna Cemetery, directed by Henderson Funeral Home.

W.H. Lester

COMANCHE - W.H. Lester, 75, died Wednesday in a Brownwood hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.
