Evelynn Elizabeth Boyd

Evelynn Elizabeth Boyd, 63, died Monday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. David Cason officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Gap Cemetery.

Mrs. Boyd was born in Leaday and graduated from Abilene High School. She married Floyd Boyd in 1956. She worked as a probation officer and caregiver and also was a homemaker. She moved to Abilene in 1986 from Lake Coleman and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, of Lake Coleman; three daughters, Duwanna Kluza of Buffalo Gap, Dianna Aaron of Anson and Sandy Ingram of Anson; one son, Duwain Boyd of Odessa; her parents, Fred Coffey of Tuscola, and Charles and Ida Belle Coffey of Abilene; one sister, Hazel Lambert of Tuscola; two brothers, Fred Coffey Jr. of San Marcos and Charles Wayne Coffey of Abilene; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Nathan Lee Williams Sr.

Nathan Lee Williams Sr., 70, died Monday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Fifth and Grape Church of Christ with Royce Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South.

Mr. Williams was born in Abilene and was in the U.S. Air Force for two years before transferring to the Army. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and retired from the Army after 22 years in 1973. He moved to Abilene in 1972 from Copperas Cove. He married his wife in 1983 in Abilene and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Fifth and Grape Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Williams of Abilene; five sons, Nathan Lee Williams Jr. of Belton, Charles Williams of Copperas Cove, Rodney Williams of Ovalo, and Robert Williams and Terry Williams, both of Abilene; six daughters, Lisa Nalley of Center, Laura Faubion of Lampassas Tammy Jones of Copperas Cove, Vicki Ivy of Austin, and Penny Hero and Patricia Mansker, both of Abilene; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society, 209 S. Danville Dr., Abilene 79605; or Fifth and Grape Church of Christ, 433 Grape, Abilene 79601.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Winnie Elizabeth Kendall

Winnie Elizabeth Kendall, 98, died Monday in a local care center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Archie Echols officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Kendall was born in Rowlett and moved to Abilene in 1904. She attended school in Abilene. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and was the widow of Edgar Hayes Kendall.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Marvin Eugene Gholson Sr.

DALLAS - Marvin Eugene Gholson Sr., 85, formerly of the Big Country, died Oct. 7 at his home.

Services were Oct. 12 in Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mr. Gholson was born in Anson and grew up in Haskell. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1936 and earned both his master's and doctorate degrees from the University of Texas. He worked for Magnolia Petroleum Co. and Atlantic Refining Co. He then served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Sybil Glass in 1945 in Abilene. While in the Air Force, he was stationed in England, Tunisia, Sicily, France and India before retiring as a reserve major. He taught at the University of Southern California, University of Texas and Dallas Baptist University before retiring. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of Dallas; one son, Marvin Gholson Jr. of Denton; one sister, Elsie Gholson Hadley of Burleson; two brothers, Buster Gholson of Abilene and Jack Gholson of Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to Dallas First Baptist Church or a favorite charity.

Iva Orren

COMANCHE - Iva Mae Orren, 72, died Monday after a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with A.C. Morris officiating. Burial will be in Comanche Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Mrs. Orren was born in Comanche and married Ed Orren in 1951 in Fort Worth. She worked as an artist and was a member of Pearl Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, of Comanche; one daughter, Jena Simmons of Coppell; one son, Gary Orren of Abilene; one sister, Virginia Archer of Comanche; four brothers, O.H. Cleere of De Leon, H.S. Cleere of Azle, B.J. Cleere of Odessa and H.L. Cleere of North Little Rock, Ark.; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Comanche Senior Citizens Center or Medina Children's Home.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Carl Ray Hass

BAIRD - Carl Ray Hass, 77, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Clyde with the Rev. Riley Fugitt officiating. Burial will be in Ross Cemetery.

Mr. Hass was born in Stephenville and attended school in Clyde and Midway. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II and received a Purple Heart. He married Helen Burks in 1949 in the Clyde-Baird area and moved to Baird in 1950. He worked as a watch repairman in Clyde in the early 1960s and was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of Baird; two brothers, Harold Hass of Baird and Stanley Hass of Hobbs, N.M.; one sister, Charlcie Ryan of San Angelo; and several nieces and nephews.

Priscilla 'Tommie' Thompson

COLORADO CITY - Priscilla "Tommie" Thompson, 90, died Tuesday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ted Spear and the Rev. Eddie Riley officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Lamar County, Ala., and formerly lived in Snyder. She was a homemaker and moved to Colorado City in 1978. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widow of Clifton Thompson, whom she married in 1930 in Mississippi.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Hardee of Colorado City and Doris Young of Center Point; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials for the multi-purpose building being built between the Ware and Wallace Prison units may be sent c/o First Baptist Church, Box 641, Colorado City 79512.

F.W. 'Floyd' Wood

SWEETWATER - F.W. "Floyd" Wood, 91, died Monday in a local care center.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Roby Cemetery with Wendell Kent officiating, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.

Mr. Wood was born in Nolan County and was a lifelong resident of Fisher and Nolan counties. He married Scena Landers in Fisher County and was a farmer. He was a member of Fisher County Sheriff's Posse and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, of Sweetwater.

Zita Ruth Martin Fee

LUBBOCK - Zita Ruth Martin Fee, 67, member of a Sweetwater church, died Monday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Carillon's Neil Chapel with the Rev. Allan Guthrie officiating. Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery, directed by Rix Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Fee was born in Brawley, Calif., and graduated from Lubbock High School and Texas Tech University. She taught school in Wolfforth, and Richland, Calif. She married Bob Fee in 1989 in Lubbock and was a member of PEO Sisterhood, Kappa Alpha Theta and First Presbyterian Church in Sweetwater.

Survivors include her husband, of Roscoe; one son, Greg Sharp of Woodrow; her mother, Mrs. Ruel C. Martin of Lubbock; one sister, Mrs. A.B. Enloe of Lubbock; and three grandchildren.

Foy Young

STAMFORD - Foy L. Young, 84, died Monday in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Highland Memorial Cemetery with Paul Stanley officiating, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home.

Mr. Young was born in Erath County and graduated from Stamford High School. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired aircraft construction worker of Lockheed in California.

Survivors include three sisters, Signa Stanley of Tyler, Claudine Farnsworth of Anson and Fern Ballard of Avoca; and his ex-wife, Fay Young of Albuquerque, N.M.

Frank Bouton

BOYD - Frank L. Bouton, 74, brother of an Anson resident, died Tuesday in Azle.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Lineberger officiating. Burial will be in Boyd Cemetery.

Mr. Bouton was born in Guion and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was retired from Lockheed and was the widower of Eloise Fritcher Bouton.

Survivors include one son, Terry Bouton; one daughter, Carol Hinsey; one brother, Weldon Bouton of Anson; and four grandchildren.

Murl Deen Champion

DENVER CITY - Murl Deen Champion, 68, formerly of Cross Plains, died Monday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Denver City Church of Christ with Skip Rodgers officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Cottonwood Cemetery near Cross Plains, directed by Ratliff Funeral Home.

Mrs. Champion was born in Cross Plains and married R.L. "Bob" Champion in 1950 in Hobbs, N.M. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, of Denver City; two daughters, Debbie Gauronskas of Kingwood and Deena Mitchell of Mandeville, La.; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Austin Beard

Austin Beard died Tuesday in a local hospital. Services are pending with Girdner Funeral Home, 111 Elm.

Vera 'Bitty' Griffitts

Vera "Bitty" Griffitts, 89, died Tuesday in a local nursing home. Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Dorinda Long

BIG SPRING - Dorinda Long, 42, died Monday in a Lubbock hospital. Services are pending with Myers & Smith Funeral Home.

Rossie Richburg

SWEETWATER - Rossie Richburg, 85, died Tuesday in a local care center. Services are pending with Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Ruby Lee Moore

BRECKENRIDGE - Ruby Lee Moore, 73, died Sunday in an Abilene hospital. Services are pending with Melton Funeral Home.

Jim Finch

ROTAN - Jim Finch, 60, of Atlanta and formerly of Rotan, died Sunday in Atlanta. Services are pending with Weathersbee Funeral Home.

Gertie Mae Oakley

WOODSON - Gertie Mae Oakley, 63, died Monday in an Albany nursing home. Services are pending with Melton Funeral Home of Breckenridge.

James Alton 'Jim' Wood

EASTLAND - James Alton "Jim" Wood, 47, of Eastland County, died Friday at his home. The body was cremated and no services are planned. Arrangements were made by Edwards Funeral Home.

Lola 'Midge' Thompson

STEPHENVILLE - Lola R. "Midge" Thompson, 70, died Monday in a Weatherford care center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Bluff Dale, directed by Stephenville Funeral Home.

Neoma Lea Berry Barnett

STAMFORD - Neoma Lea Berry Barnett, 83, died Tuesday at her home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Highland Memorial Cemetery, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.

Jewel Alene Hutchison Wolfe

STEPHENVILLE - Jewel Alene Hutchison Wolfe, 76, died Monday at her home after a long illness. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Stephenville First Baptist Church, directed by Stephenville Funeral Home.
