Esther Audrey Osborn Leggett
Esther Audrey Osborn Leggett, 88, of Hamby, died Friday in
a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Allen-Korzenewski Funeral
Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd, with David Cason officiating. Burial
will be in Hamby Cemetery.
Mrs. Leggett was born in Yantis and moved to Hamby in 1922.
She was a member of Cora Posey Chapter 1072, Order of the Eastern
Star; and Hamby Baptist Church and was the widow of Jeff Leggett,
whom she married in 1926.
Survivors include one son, Joe Leggett of Fort Worth; two daughters,
Dot Burson of Clyde and Bess Madison Caldwell of Abilene; 13 grandchildren;
19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many
nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to either Hamby Baptist Church or Cora
Posey Chapter 1072 at 918 E.N. 12th, Abilene 79601.
Essie Glenn
Essie E. Glenn, 103, of Colorado City and formerly of Abilene,
died Friday in a Colorado City nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Elmwood Memorial
Park with the Rev. Oscar Fanning officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil
Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Glenn was born in Mount Pleasant and graduated from Midway
High School in Stephens County. She was a homemaker and moved
to Abilene in 1919 from Amarillo. She and her husband then owned
Glenn Furniture Co. until 1958. She moved to Cisco in 1980 from
Abilene. She was a former member of South Side Baptist Church
in Abilene. She was a member of Colorado City First Baptist Church
and was the widow of Ralph A. Glenn, whom she married in 1916
in Breckenridge.
Survivors include one son, Ralph Glenn of Colorado City; four
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Janet Wood Beauchamp
ANSON -- Janet Wood Beauchamp, 57, died Thursday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Anson First Baptist Church
with the Rev. Lee Welch officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope
Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beauchamp was born in Quanah and married Cecil Beauchamp
in 1958 in Henrietta. She moved to Anson in 1959. She graduated
from Anson High School in 1959 and worked at Lepard's Fast Break
No. 2. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Anson; one son, Ray "Sonny"
Beauchamp of Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Lisa Ashford of
Anson and Tammy Jones of Eastland; and three grandchildren.
Eddie Eugene Cole
BLACKWELL -- Eddie Eugene Cole, 64, died Thursday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Blackwell United Methodist
Church with the Rev. Charles Casey officiating. Burial will be
in Blackwell Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
Mr. Cole was born in Lancaster and served with the U.S. Navy.
He married Betty Sweet in 1971 in Las Vegas, Nev., and worked
as a dirt contractor. He also was a rancher. He moved to Blackwell
in 1979 from Dallas and was a member of Blackwell United Methodist
Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Blackwell; one son, Russell
Cole of Blackwell; one daughter, Connie Diane Cole of Leadville,
Colo.; his father, Rupert E. Cole of De Soto; one sister, Peggy
Cavender of De Soto; and five grandchildren.
Kati Rochelle Miller
WINTERS -- Kati Rochelle Miller, 14, of Alamogordo, N.M., and
formerly of Winters, died Monday in Albuquerque, N.M. after a
sudden illness.
Services were Friday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Alamogordo,
N.M., directed by Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home of Alamogordo.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Lutheran Cemetery
with the Rev. James Hanson officiating, directed by Winters Funeral
Home.
Kati was born in Ballinger and lived in Winters until 1986.
She moved to New Mexico in 1993 from Florida and was a member
of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Alamogordo, N.M.
Survivors include her parents, Floyd "Bill" and Leslie
Dunlap Miller of Alamogordo, N.M.; one sister, Brandi Miller of
Niceville, Fla.; her maternal grandparents, Dick and Rosetta Dunlap
of Las Cruces, N.M.; her maternal great-grandparents, Lawrence
and Leona Jacob of Winters; one niece and one nephew; one aunt
and three uncles; and five cousins.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday in Winters Funeral Home.
Annac Poe Daugherty
EASTLAND -- Annac Poe Daugherty, 87, of Modesto, Calif., and
formerly of the Eastland area, died Sunday in Modesto.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Gunsight Cemetery.
Mrs. Daugherty was born in Eastland and attended school in
Yellow Mound. She married Floyce A. Poe and lived in Odessa from
1946-64. She worked at Odessa Memorial Hospital and was a member
of Parkview Church of Christ in Odessa. She moved to De Leon in
1965. She lived in Gunsight before moving to Modesto, Calif. in
1987. She was a member of the Ladies Homemaker Club in Breckenridge
and was the widow of Leonard Daugherty.
Survivors include one son, Floy A. Poe of Odessa; two daughters,
Marlene Whitemore of Bakersfield, Calif., and Shyrel Burns of
Modesto, Calif.; two brothers, Norman Lowrance of Perrin and Nelson
Lowrance of Arkansas; one sister, Almeda Taylor of Victoria; four
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Joe Gower
BROWNWOOD -- Joe A. Gower, 83, lifelong local resident, died
Friday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Greenleaf Cemetery
with the Rev. Richard Hetzel officiating, directed by Davis-Morris
Funeral Home.
Mr. Gower was born in Brookesmith and served with the U.S.
Army's Womens Air Corps during World War II. She was a retired
licensed vocational nurse and beautician. She was the widow of
Elmer E. Gower.
Survivors include one sister, Goldie Tongate of Brownwood;
four nephews and four nieces; and several great nieces and great
nephews.
Eula Inez Weber
EASTLAND -- Eula Inez Weber, 87, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel
with Dr. Thomas Goodman and Wyley Peebles officiating. Burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger.
Mrs. Weber was born in Coleman County and married Forrest C.
Weber in 1939 in Ranger. She worked for J.C. Penney and owned
a Cloth World fabric store in Odessa. She was a member of Senior
Citizens, American Association of Retired Persons and First Baptist
Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Eastland; one brother, Stephen
F. Preslar; one niece and four nephews; and several great nieces
and great nephews.
Gabriel Nathaniel Lara
Gabriel Nathaniel Lara, 8-month-old infant, died Friday in
a local hospital. Services are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral
Home, 542 Hickory.
George Stewart Sr.
George Stewart Sr., 74, died Sunday in a local hospital. Services
are pending with Curtis-Starks Funeral Home, 542 E.N. 7th.
Jose Garfias Sr.
BIG SPRING -- Jose Garfias Sr., 83, of Ackerly, died Friday
in a San Angelo hospital. Services are pending with Myers &
Smith Funeral Home.
Emil Orsak
BIG SPRING -- Emil Orsak, 75, died Friday at his home. Services
are pending with Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Ruth Dorene Brooks
STAMFORD -- Ruth Dorene Brooks, 77, died Friday in a local
hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Kinney Funeral
Home Chapel.
Viloiso Garcia Sr.
BIG SPRING -- Viloiso Y. Garcia Sr., 61, died Friday in a local
hospital. Graveside services were Friday in Mount Olive Memorial
Park, directed by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Opal Gattis
RISING STAR -- Opal J. Gattis, 92, died Friday in an Abilene
hospital. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Cross
Plains Cemetery, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home of Cross
Plains.
