Billy Clendennen

Billy Clendennen, 67, of Abilene died Monday at a local convalescent center.

No services are planned. The body will be at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory, today.

Mr. Clendennen was born in Ballinger and had lived in Abilene for more than 30 years. He was a laborer in the oil field, a Baptist and an Army veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Barry Franklin Clendennen Stewart and George Paul Clendennen Stewart, both of Englewood, Colo.; one daughter, Billy Jane Sullivan of Merkel; one brother, Charles Clendennen of Abilene; two sisters, Lola Jean Davis of Abilene and Carolyn Louise Barth of Breckenridge; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham Lane, Abilene 79602.

Isaias Arispe

Isaias G. Arispe, 53, formerly of Abilene, died Saturday in Covington, La.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange, with Ezequiel Pecina officiating, assisted by Dimas Arispe. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.

Mr. Arispe grew up in Winters and moved to Abilene in 1959, where he was in the roofing business for many years. He had lived in Folsom, La., for 10 years. He married Cynthia Sue Manton in 1979 in White Settlement.

Survivors include his wife, of Folsom; two sons, Isaias Arispe Jr. of Dallas and Severiano Arispe of Folsom; three daughters, Maria Arispe of Abilene and Marina Arispe and Adriana Arispe, both of Folsom; two brothers, Dimas Arispe of Weatherford and Eliseo Arispe of Dallas; four sisters, Otila Sigala, Carolina Lara, Oega Carrillo and Elisa Solis, all of Abilene; and two granddaughters.

Naomi Mitchell

ARLINGTON - Naomi M. Mitchell, 72, died Saturday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church. Entombment will be in Moore Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, directed by Moore Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mitchell was born in Baton Rouge, La., and was a retired school teacher with the Arlington Independent School District. She had lived in Abilene for 10 years and taught at Hardin-Simmons University for three years.

Survivors include her husband, Jess Mitchell; two sons, Tim Mitchell and Jack Mitchell; two daughters, Jorja Berg of Abilene and Susan Morgan; one brother, Rivers Myers; one sister, Sylvia Smith; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Marion Hays

STERLING CITY - Marion H. Hays, 82, died Sunday at a San Angelo hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ with Rick Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Clyde, directed by Ross Funeral Home.

Mr. Hays was born in Abilene and was a Church of Christ minister. He married Mary Allene Webb in 1932 in Oklahoma.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Peggy Norris of Midland and Ann Prather of Reno, Nev.; two sons, Robert Hays of Grandview and L. Keelon Hays of Fort Worth; and one brother, James Hays of Lubbock.

Sara (Mrs. Pedro) Aguirre

MORAN - Sara M. (Mrs. Pedro) Aguirre, 60, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Jesus of Nazareth Catholic Church in Albany. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Revs. Joe Vasquez and Ruben Castaneda officiating. Burial will be in Moran Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home of Albany.

Mrs. Aguirre was born in Campbellton and had been employed by the Abilene Independent School District. She also worked in home health care and was a homemaker and a member of Jesus of Nazareth Catholic Church. She married Pedro Aguirre in 1957 in Brady.

Survivors include her husband, of Moran; one daughter, Mindy Murray of Abilene; three sons, Orlando Aguirre of Moran, Pedro Aguirre Jr. of Abilene and Ricky Aguirre of Brady; seven brothers, Genaro Martinez and Johnny Martinez, both of Lubbock, Benny Martinez of Hereford, Santos Martinez Sr. and Lalo Martinez, both of Dimmitt, Jose Angel Martinez of Fort Morgan, Colo., and Margo Martinez Sr. of Albany; four sisters, Anita Carranco of Lubbock and Mary Falcon, Lucy Fuentes and Becky Martinez, all of Dimmitt; and four grandchildren.

Felix Stanley Hardin

RED OAK - Felix Stanley Hardin, 76, a longtime teacher in the Abilene Independent School District, died Saturday in Waco.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ with Wayne England officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Obilla, directed by Red Oak Funeral Home.

Mr. Hardin was born in Oatmeal.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ruth Hardin of Waco; four sons, Stanley Hardin II of Glenn Heights, Richard Hardin, both of Glenn Heights, Clifford Reeves of California and Billy Hill of Tennessee; two daughters, Jamie Weideman and Cynthia Franklin, both of Waco; one brother, George Hardin of Marble Falls; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Sammy Clay McClure

BROWNWOOD - Sammy Clay McClure, 63, a longtime Brown County resident, died Saturday.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Trinity Chapel in Early, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Mr. McClure was born in Placid.

Survivors include his mother, Billie Curry of Brownwood; one sister, Carolyn DeVoe of Amarillo; three sons, Dennis McClure and Michael McClure, both of Conroe, and Clay McClure of Coleman; four grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

Barbara Ann Johnson Corbell

COLORADO CITY - Barbara Ann Johnson Corbell, 57, died Sunday at her home. Graveside services were Monday in Colorado City Cemetery with Kerry Cain officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Corbell was born in Anson and had lived in Colorado City for 35 years. She was a homemaker and a member of 22nd and Austin Streets Church of Christ. She married Jackie Corbell in 1958 in Colorado City.

Survivors include her husband, of Colorado City; two daughters, Carla Merket and Becky Corbell, both of Colorado City; her mother, Ruth Johnson of Colorado City; and one grandson.

Audavee Claxton

COLORADO CITY - Audavee Claxton, 76, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Oak Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Aeron Oden and Dr. Bentley Gwyn officiating. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Claxton was born in Nolan County, where he lived all his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a mechanic for John Deere in Colorado City for 26 years. He graduated from Arlington Bible Seminary in 1961 with a degree in theology and music and was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church. He married Gwen Yarbrough in 1942 in Hermleigh.

Survivors include his wife, of Colorado City; three daughters, Lynn Moody and Elaine Kelly, both of Colorado City, and Sandy Pearcy of Sweetwater; one brother, Wayne Claxton of Colorado City; two sisters, Gladys Faye Oden of Snyder and Juanice Peach of Frisco; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Linnie Lorine Aiken

SWEETWATER - Linnie Lorine Aiken, 85, of Roscoe, died Monday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. David Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.

Mrs. Aiken was born in San Angelo and had lived in Fisher County since 1936 and in Roscoe since 1986. She was a Baptist, a homemaker and active in the Cancer Society and Art Club. She married Edwin Henry Aiken in 1933 in Sherwood; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Don Aiken of Roscoe and Edwin Aiken Jr. of Claytonville; one brother, Jack Mathews of San Angelo; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1242 N. 19th, Abilene 79601; or Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital Rehab, 200 E. Arizona, Sweetwater 79556.

The family will be at 903 Cypress in Roscoe from 3-5 p.m. today.

Dorse Collins

MUNDAY - Dorse Collins, 77, died Sunday at a local nursing home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Bruce Parks officiating. Burial will be in Johnson Memorial Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Collins was born in Munday, where he lived all his life. He was a gasoline distributor and a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a master Mason and past secretary of Lodge 851; past secretary and president of Munday Lions Club; and past worthy patron of Eastern Star. He served on the Munday Housing Authority for 25 years and was past chairman of the board. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a past member of Munday Volunteer Fire Department. He married Jean Martin in 1948 in Munday.

Survivors include his wife, of Munday; two daughters, Stacia Cook of Munday and Karen Lankford of Electra; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.

STEPHENVILLE - Rubye Lillian Short, 95, died Monday in Moody. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel.

Barbara Ann McCollum

STEPHENVILLE - Barbara Ann McCollum, 76, died Sunday in Stephenville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, directed by Lacy Funeral Home. The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Matt Stephenson 'Essie' Savoy

GOLDTHWAITE - Matt Stephenson "Essie" Savoy, 88, of Hico died Monday at a Stephenville hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel.

Ileta Henry Hall

SNYDER - Ileta Henry Hall, 88, of Dallas and formerly of Snyder, died Sunday at a Dallas hospital after a sudden illness. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hillside Memorial Gardens, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Ava Jewel Lopour

SNYDER - Ava Jewel Lopour, 91, died Monday at her home after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hillside Memorial Gardens, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

BIG SPRING - Jose N. "Joe" Garfias Sr., 83, of Ackerly died Friday at a San Angelo hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Myers & Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

John F. Schadle, 71, of Abilene died Monday at a local hospital. Services are pending with North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.

Charles Marshall

EASTLAND - Charles P. Marshall, 80, former Eastland mayor and a longtime Eastland educator, died here Monday. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Charles and Lois Marshall Sports Complex in Eastland with burial in Eastland Cemetery directed by Edwards Funeral Home.

Melvin Horton

MERKEL - Melvin Horton, 88, formerly of Abilene, died Monday at a Big Spring hospital. Services are pending with Starbuck Funeral Home.
