Ada Gertrude Snow
Ada Gertrude Snow, 87, formerly of Weatherford, Okla., died
Thursday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Weatherford Cemetery
in Weatherford, Okla., directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mrs. Snow was born in Weatherford, Okla., and was a homemaker.
She moved in 1945 to Abilene, where she and her husband operated
an outdoor advertising company. She lived in Abilene for 30 years
before returning to Weatherford. She moved back to Abilene in
1985. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was
the widow of Laurence A. Snow, whom she married in 1929 in Weatherford,
Okla.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennie S. Hudson of Beaumont
and Lynda Estrada of Abilene; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Wilma Elaine 'Billie' Clausen
Wilma Elaine "Billie" Clausen, 74, died Friday in
a local hospital.
The body will be cremated and no services are planned. Arrangements
were made by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Clausen was born in Newton, Kan., and graduated from high
school in Phoenix, Ariz. She was employed in civil service as
a office worker and bookkeeper for 14 years until retiring. She
moved to Abilene in 1989 from Las Vegas, Nev., and was a volunteer
for Hendrick Hospice Care. She was the widow of Phillip Sylvan
"Mike" Clausen, whom she married in 1961 in Chula Vista,
Calif.
Survivors include one brother, Ted Miller Jr. of Palm Desert,
Calif.; one sister, Betty Burch of Glendale, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

Margaret King
ALBANY -- Margaret (Mrs. John D.) King, 79, who along with
her husband, established Albany Cable System, the city's first
television cable system, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Matthews Memorial Presbyterian
Church with the Revs. Alec Ream and David Mallory officiating.
Burial will be in Albany Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral
Home.
Mrs. King was born in Shackelford County and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church and
was the widow of John D. King Sr., whom she married in 1939 in
Abilene.
Survivors include one son, John D. King Jr. of Eastland; one
daughter, Janis King Key of Albany; three sisters, Ruby M. Latham,
Willistine Ballard and Hazel Hopkins, all of Albany; one brother,
R.P. Mitchell of Albany; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Michael David McKelvy
BROWNWOOD -- Michael David McKelvy, 55, formerly of Clyde,
died Thursday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Clyde Cemetery
with the Rev. Riley Fugitt officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral
Home of Clyde.
Mr. McKelvy was born in Wichita Falls and graduated from Clyde
High School. He worked as a truck driver for Highway Pipeline
and Bulldog Steel. He moved to Brownwood in 1990 from Port Mansfield.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Mock of Plano; one brother,
R.L. 'Bob' McKelvy of Clyde; two sisters, Marilyn Gibbs of Abilene
and Sharon Hutcherson of Eula; and two grandchildren.
Tex Yazell
COMANCHE -- Tex R. Yazell, 69, formerly of Brownwood, died
Thursday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Early First Baptist Church
with the Revs. Jess Smith and Calvin Knight officiating. Burial
will be in Newburg Cemetery in Comanche County, directed by Heartland
Funeral Home of Early.
Mr. Yazell was born in Lampasas and attended school in Bangs.
He also attended Howard Payne University and served with the U.S.
Army during the Korean conflict. He married Marie Anderson in
1955 in Richland and owned Yazell Chevrolet Olds Inc. in Gilmer
before moving to Brownwood in 1983. He was a member of the Chevrolet
Dealers Council and director of Texas Automotive Association.
He was a past president of the Gilmer Lions Club. He was a former
usher at Gilmer First Baptist Church. He was both a leader of
the senior citizens group and an usher at Early First Baptist
Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Comanche; three sons, Richard
Yazell, Jay Yazell and Ronald Yazell, all of Gilmer; two daughters,
Jill Hudson of Wichita Falls and Jan Wilkerson of Comanche; one
sister, Wilma Tackett of Zephyr; 16 grandchildren; and many nieces
and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to Early First Baptist Church or American
Cancer Society.
Cleo Pruitt Davis Sr.
EL PASO -- Cleo Pruitt Davis Sr., 85, formerly of Stephenville,
died Thursday in El Paso.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Martin Funeral Home-East
Chapel. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was born in Stephenville and was a longtime El Paso
resident. He worked as a mechanic for many years and was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Davis; three sons, Cleo
Pruitt Davis Jr., Warren M. Davis and Ronnie Davis; two daughters,
Carolyn Humphrey and Lois Wilson; two sisters, Cliftene Ashley
and Ruby Stevenson; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Rupert 'Junior' Lamar
Rupert C. "Junior" Lamar, 68, of the Dallas area
and formerly of Abilene, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital. Services
are pending with Girdner Funeral Home, 111 Elm.
Betty Sue Wise
Betty Sue Wise, 65, died Friday at her home. Services are pending
with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Homes.
Alice Jane Couch
Alice Jane Couch, 77, died Thursday in a local hospital. Services
are pending with Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Ruby Moore
Ruby Moore, 84, of Sweetwater, died Friday in Sweetwater. Services
are pending with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277
South.
Ruby Grasty
PALESTINE -- Ruby Grasty, 85, mother of a Colorado City resident,
died Friday in a Colorado City hospital. Services are pending
with Bailey and Foster Funeral Home.

SWEETWATER -- Kathryn Julia Hobbs, 74, died Friday in a local
hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Trinity Baptist
Church, directed by Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Cary Davis 'Jack' Gary Jr.
DUBLIN -- Cary Davis "Jack" Gary Jr., 80, of Temple
and formerly of Erath County, died Friday in a Temple hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Victor Cemetery
in Erath County, directed by Harrell Funeral Home.
James Gryder
STEPHENVILLE -- James Gryder, 77, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Calvary Baptist Church, directed
by Stephenville Funeral Home.
Russell Calvert Wright
GOLDTHWAITE -- Russell Calvert Wright, 80, died Thursday in
a Brownwood hospital. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today in
Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel.
Harold Eugene Huckabaa Sr.
SNYDER -- Harold Eugene Huckabaa Sr., 65, formerly of San Angelo,
died Thursday at his home after a lengthy illness. Graveside services
will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San
Angelo, directed by Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
