Karen Lee Robbins
Karen Lee Robbins, 42, died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral
Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory. Burial will be in Bethel
Cemetery in Funston.
Ms. Robbins was born in New Market, England, and lived in Abilene
most of her life. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include her parents, Bob and Pauline Wylie of Abilene;
three sons, Ian Timothy Stilman of Abilene and Paul Michael Robbins
and Robert Robbins, both of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, John
Robert Decker of Abilene and Paul Barr of Austin; two sisters,
Colleen Bishop and Debbie Bradberry, both of Abilene; and several
nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1922,
Abilene 79604.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Clyde 'Joe' Herrin
Clyde D. "Joe" Herrin, 80, died Friday at a local
hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Quicksand Cemetery
near Buckhorn with the Rev. Paul Outlaw officiating, directed
by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Herrin had lived in Abilene for 30 years. He graduated
from high school in Bon Wier and was an Army veteran of World
War II. He was a retired cook and baker from Abilene Christian
University. He was the widower of Maudie Pauline Herrin.
Survivors include one sister, Thelma Snow of Vidor, and 18
nieces and nephews.
Foy Clifford Yarbrough
SWEETWATER - Foy Clifford Yarbrough, 82, of Nolan died Saturday
at an Abilene retirement center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel
of Memories with Bill Yarbrough, Mike Ensminger and Kevin Hallaburton
officiating. Burial will be in Loraine Cemetery.
Mr. Yarbrough was born in Grand Saline and was a farmer and
rancher. He lived in Roscoe and Loraine before moving to Nolan
in 1964. He was a past member of Divide school board, a member
of Nolan Church of Christ and a farmer-rancher. He was an agent
for Germanian Insurance Co. He married Savannah Caswell in 1940
in Loraine.
Survivors include his wife, of Nolan; three sons, Harold Yarbrough
of Nolan, David Yarbrough of Weatherford and Dwayne Yarbrough
of Buffalo Gap; three brothers, Sewell Yarbrough and Leland Yarbrough,
both of Tucson, Ariz., and Bill Yarbrough of Saravista, Ariz.;
four sisters, Ruby Honea and Sylvia Bearden, both of Abilene,
Faye Root of Elmira, N.Y., and Leta Townsend of Lubbock; nine
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
LeRuth Johnston Kelley
COMANCHE - LeRuth Johnston Kelley, 84, of Gustine died Saturday
at a local hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hall & Sons Funeral
Home Chapel with the Revs. Ronnie Calcote, Ray Harvey and Joe
Bob McGinnis officiating. Burial will be in Baggett Creek Cemetery
near Gustine.
Mrs. Kelley was born in Comanche County, where she lived all
her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Gustine.
She married T.E. "Earl" Kelley in 1933.
Survivors include her husband, of Gustine; one daughter, Cammilla
Reed of Gustine; one brother, Ray Johnston of Fort Worth; one
sister, Joyce McGinnis of Dallas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Lunch for the family will be at noon today at First Baptist
Church in Gustine.
Troyce Perry
MERKEL - Troyce Perry, 74, of Breckenridge died Saturday in
Abilene.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Rose Hill Cemetery
with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating, directed by Starbuck
Funeral Home.
Mr. Perry was born in Weatherford and worked for Shell Oil
Co. in Houston as a heavy equipment operator for 17 years. He
was a letter carrier in Midland for 15 years and moved to Breckenridge
after retiring in 1987. He was an Army veteran of World War II
and a member of First Baptist Church and Senior Adult LLL Society
in Breckenridge. He married Billie Townsend in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife, of Breckenridge; one son, Stephen
Troyce Perry of Midland; one brother, Billy Ray Perry of Merkel;
and two sisters, Opal Collier of Merkel and Glenda Smith of Tacoma,
Wash.

Mary Lee Etta Fleming McDaniel
CARBON - Mary Lee Etta Flemming McDaniel, 76, died Saturday
at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bakker Funeral Home
Chapel in Eastland with Jim Hatcher and Joe Wilson officiating.
Burial will be in Murray Cemetery.
Mrs. McDaniel was born in Coleman County where she grew up
and graduated from Santa Anna High School. She worked in the Houston
shipyards as a welder during World War II, then earned a beautician's
license and worked as a beautician until 1947. She lived in Freeport
until 1951, when she returned to Carbon. She was a homemaker and
a member of the Church of Christ. She married J.L. McDaniel in
1947.
Survivors include her husband, of Carbon; two sons, J.C. McDaniel
of Carbon and Kenneth McDaniel of Athens, Tex.; two daughters,
Betty Joyner of Austin and Jenett McDaniel of Crowley; one brother,
J.A. Fleming of Bangs; one sister, Margie Fleming of Bangs; and
four grandchildren.
Esther Holland Jennings
BALLINGER - Esther Holland Jennings, 90, of Norton died Sunday
at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Rains-Seale Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Mills Caraway officiating. Burial will be
in Norton Cemetery.
Mrs. Jennings was born in Norton and was a homemaker and a
member of Norton Baptist Church. She married Trent Jennings in
1934 in Santa Anna; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Jennings and Ed Jennings, both
of San Angelo; one sister, Mary Del Brown of Albuquerque, N.M.;
15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. today.
Viva Eva Masters
STAMFORD - Viva Eva Masters, 81, died Saturday at an Abilene
hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Avoca United Methodist
Church with the Rev. Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will
be in Springcreek Cemetery, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Masters was born in Coryell County and had lived in Jones
County all her life. She worked for Perry Brothers for 25 years
as a bookkeeper and was a member and Sunday school teacher at
Avoca United Methodist Church. She married Truman Masters in 1937
in Lueders; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Ann Thompson of
Avoca, Eva Mae Conner of Stamford and Wilma Kay Wilcox of Hamlin;
one brother, Paul Shelton of Ocean Springs, Miss.; 10 grandchildren,
34 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Nita Victoria Swindle Wilkins
BROWNWOOD - Nita Victoria Swindle Wilkins, 88, died Saturday
at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Indian Gap
Cemetery with Dr. Norbert Peil officiating, directed by Davis-Morris
Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Union
Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Wilkins was born in Indian Gap and graduated from Brownwood
High School and from Howard Payne University with bachelor's degrees
in education, English and Spanish. She was a retired school teacher,
having taught at Priddy, Miami, Ariz., Prescott, Ariz., and, from
1953-1975, Brownwood. She had lived in Brownwood since 1952 and
was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Retired Teachers Association
and Brownwood Art Association. She married Austin Strong Wilkins
in 1944 in Prescott.
Survivors include her husband, of Brownwood; one daughter,
Kerry Diane Wilkins Boutell of Plano; one sister, Marjorie Swindle
Aceves of Fort Worth; three grandchildren and a number of nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.

Travis Smith
GORMAN - Travis Smith, 80, died Saturday at a De Leon hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Higginbotham Funeral Home
Chapel with Scott Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in Gorman
Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born in Coryell County and was a Navy veteran
of World War II. He was a farmer and a member of the Church of
Christ. He married Wynogene Cunningham in 1938 in Palo Pinto.
Survivors include his wife, of Gorman; two daughters, Barbara
Smith of Gorman and Debra Selman of Round Rock; one brother, Kenneth
Smith of Atlanta, Tex.; two sisters, Hallie Clark of Gorman and
Lorene Grisham of Panhandle; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
