Hazel Elaine Crunk Hester
Hazel Elaine Crunk Hester, 76, formerly of Lawton, Okla., died
Monday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Highland Memorial
Park in Lawton, Okla., with the Rev. Bill Todd officiating, directed
by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Hester was born in San Antonio and graduated from Lohn
High School. She attended North Texas University. She worked in
the registrar's office at Presbyterian College in Laurenburg,
N.C., and as a librarian at Austin College in Sherman. She moved
to Abilene in 1967 from Denton and was the widow of Dr. Ralph
G. Hester, whom she married in 1942 in Lawton, Okla.
Survivors include one brother-in-law, Lanier "Shorty"
Hester of El Campo; and several cousins and other relatives.

Waynette Davis
Waynette H. Davis, 83, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Elmwood Memorial
Park with the Rev. Don Cauble officiating, directed by North's
Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mrs. Davis was born in Desdemona and grew up in Hamlin. She
married Ernest Davis in 1941 in Hamlin. She taught art at Hamlin
High School for several years before moving to Abilene in 1953.
She was a Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Munden of Abilene; one
son, Dan Davis of Abilene; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Lester Johnson
TUSCOLA - Walter Lester Johnson Jr., 70, died Tuesday at his
home.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Elmwood Memorial
Park in Abilene with the Rev. T.C. Melton officiating, directed
by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson was born near Ovalo and was a lifelong resident
of the Ovalo-Tuscola area. He attended school in Ovalo and married
Claudia Jo Shrum in 1954 in Comanche County. He owned and operated
Lester Johnson Construction Co., a dirt contracting business,
for many years. He then owned and operated Lester Johnson Farms
until retiring in 1991.
Survivors include his wife, of Tuscola; one daughter, Leslie
Prentice of Buffalo Gap; one son, Rickie Johnson of Tuscola; one
stepdaughter, Judy Stubblefield of Ovalo; one sister, Charlyn
Ogle of Abilene; one brother, Merl Johnson of Abilene; and five
grandchildren.
Brazie Blanchard
FREDERICKSBURG - Brazie Blanchard, 92, formerly of the Abilene
area, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Elmwood Memorial
Park in Abilene with Donald Valenta officiating, directed by Sizemore
Funeral Home of Kerrville.
Mrs. Blanchard was born in Paris, Texas, and married Otis Blanchard
in 1929 in Winters. She moved to Caps in 1939. She worked as a
cafeteria manager at South Lincoln and Mann Junior High schools
in Abilene for 22 years before retiring in 1971.
Survivors include one son, Ken Blanchard of Ingram; one daughter,
Shirley Biggs of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and one brother, Gaylon Wright
of Christoval.
Michael Lynn Ford
SWEETWATER - Michael Lynn Ford, 43, of Austin and formerly
of Sweetwater, died Wednesday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Garden of Memories
Cemetery with Dr. Joel McCoy officiating, directed by McCoy Funeral
Home.
Mr. Ford was born in Haskell and graduated from Sweetwater
High School in 1973 and the University of Texas in 1979. He worked
as a medical gas specialist for Wilson Oxygen in Austin for several
years. He was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin.
Survivors include his parents, Lynn and Mary Ford of Sweetwater;
one brother, Steve Ford of Sweetwater; one niece; and several
uncles, aunts and cousins.

Elmo 'Red' Bellah
HAMLIN - Elmo L. "Red" Bellah, 94, died Tuesday in
a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Foster-Adams Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Tracy Watson officiating. Burial will be
in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Bellah was born in Rockwall County and attended school
in Hamlin. He married Ruby Graham in 1929 in Aspermont. He worked
as a cotton gin manager for Paymaster and lived in Roscoe, Hale
Center, Plainview and San Simon, Ariz. before retiring in 1965.
He then returned to Hamlin and was a former member of the Hamlin
Lions Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Hamlin; one son, Jim Bellah
of Tigard, Ore.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Fay Ola Foster Self
ALBANY - Fay Ola Foster Self, 85, died Tuesday in an Abilene
hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Christian Church
with the Revs. David Mallory and Don Clevenger officiating. Burial
will be in Albany Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral
Home.
Mrs. Self was born in Jay, Okla., and worked as a bookkeeper.
She was a member of Chapter 733, Order of the Eastern Star, for
more than 50 years and was the treasurer for more than 30 years.
She also was a member of First Christian Church and was the widow
of Thomas Foster and Marvin Self.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Holson of Albany and
Jane Mitchell of Marble Falls; one sister, Julia Johnson of Bell,
Calif.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Ida Baker Munger
BROWNWOOD - Ida E. Baker Munger, 85, died Monday in a local
hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Heartland Funeral Home
Chapel in Early with Dr. Ron Cook officiating. Burial will be
in Santa Anna Cemetery.
Mrs. Munger was born in Merkel and married B.A. Munger in 1934
in Brown County. She returned to Brownwood in 1979 from West Texas
and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Dwayne Munger of Early and Travis
J. Munger of Brownwood; two daughters, G. Ann Geurin of El Paso
and Debra S. Stadjuhar of Las Cruces, N.M.; and three nephews.
Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
