A problem solver
I would like to express my support for Charlie Wolfe, school board, Place 5. I have known Charlie for six years, and during that time I have worked closely with him on many projects. Charlie is a wizard at determining the best path to a goal, the solution to a problem, or just finding a better way to do things. He always seems to know the right questions to ask to clarify a complicated situation.Charlie is a problem solver!
Charlie is a CPA, a computer programmer, a certified computer network engineer, and a very successful business owner. His knowledge, education and experience give him an in-depth understanding of where our rapidly advancing technology is headed and what will be required of our children to succeed in the business world. Charlie has the proven skill, intelligence and dedication we need on our school board.
Please make time to vote this Saturday, and choose wisely by voting for Charlie Wolfe.

Brown impressive
It was my opportunity and privilege to meet City Council candidate V.L. Brown, who is running for Place 5. Dr. Brown spoke of his support for neighborhood improvement projects, economic development that creates new jobs, strict crime prevention and punishment programs and his belief in the investments of personal responsibility. These are just a few of the issues that reflect Brown's concern for his community and the welfare of his fellow citizens.
His stand on several other issues and Brown's background and experience are available in his printed campaign material.
Brown impressed our group as being open-minded -- willing to consider others' points of view. He certainly seems to be a man of integrity and deserving of the opportunity to further apply his knowledge, diverse experience and dedicated concern to the benefit of our community on the City Council, Place 5.

Endorsing Siltman
I am pleased to recommend Bobby Siltman, who is running for a position on the Abilene school board.
For many years Mr. Siltman taught in the AISD and was known throughout Texas, and beyond, for his innovative work with early teen-age students in choral music. Because of his passion for excellence and his ability to communicate, he enriched the lives of thousands of our children.
His interest in the community has not been limited to his responsibilities as a teacher. His imagination and creative thinking caused him to be selected to serve on the Civic Center board, the Cultural Affairs board and the Abilene Philharmonic board. Through the years he has also been active in his church and has participated in veterans patriotic celebrations.
Mr. Siltman is aware of the problems that face the educational institutions of today and is willing to spend the necessary time and energy to keep students of the AISD on the cutting edge of progress. He is not satisfied with status quo.

Please vote Young
Electing Rhonda Young to Place 4 on the Abilene school board would bring youth and many new ideas to the school board. She has the ability, desire and willingness to serve in the best interest of the children in Abilene. She is willing to dedicate the necessary time to being a productive member of the board.
We may be prejudiced, since Rhonda is our daughter-in-law, but we know she would serve well in the position and recommend her to the people of Abilene. Please vote Young.
