Dividing by race

I read a piece in the Abilene Reporter-News a few days ago stating that, although Clinton has white skin, he is our first "black" president because he likes junk food, was reared by a single mother and grew up poor!

Obviously this was a crass and base attempt to unify black voters into a block of support for liberal Democrats in the election. It also must be part of an ignorant stereotype of all black Americans to which liberal Democrats subscribe and believe black Americans must as well.

The piece failed to mention that Clinton is immoral and commits perjury. To what race would liberal Democrats ascribe these characteristics?

Black Americans are as diverse as Swede, German, Englishmen or citizens of Texas or Arkansas. As diverse as America itself.

Stop trying to divide the United States on racial lines, liberals! Grow up to the level of the majority of honest, hard-working, moral, law-abiding citizens of every color (who also may like junk food, have grown up with a single mother and be poor)!

Ring recovered

Thursday evening, Oct. 22, my husband, Coach Gregg Wilson, took his Clyde High School junior varsity football team to play a game at Grape Creek High School. Upon his return home late that evening, he realized his Hardin-Simmons University class ring was missing. He searched everywhere, but couldn't find it.

Gregg was just sick about losing his ring, and all we knew to do was to pray about it, so that is just what we did.

The next morning I called the Grape Creek administrative offices and talked to the nicest lady, who then put me in touch with the field house. I spoke to Coach Lynn Cauley who was so nice. I told him about our dilemma, and he was eager to help. He took my name and number and said he would get back in touch.

After a little while, my phone rang with the best news I've had in a long time. It seems Coach Cauley and two of his friends (I wish I knew their names) went out to the football field and searched up and down the sidelines until they found Gregg's ring.

All I knew to say was "Hallelujah!" Our prayers were truly answered that day.

The nice lady who answered the phone, Coach Cauley and his two friends who helped him search for the ring all restored my faith in humankind. To them, I would like to say thank you. Your honesty and integrity have been revealed through your actions, and we pray that God will richly bless you. My husband Gregg and I will be forever grateful to you all.

Sick of liberals

I am so sick and tired of all these left-wing liberal Democrats who try to tell the American people what they want and what to think.

America, wake up and think for yourself and use the brain that God gave you.
