So it costs to park
I wondered how long it would be before someone started causing problems for the Abilene Aviators.
Too bad we have to pay $3 to park, but the way I look at it is, unlike the ACU Prairie Dogs, the Aviators are a professional team.
As far as the $12 and up tickets go, almost 5,000 people made the choice to pay for parking, tickets, concessions, team souvenirs, programs, etc., last night.
I just hope the Aviators are allowed to continue to provide badly needed entertainment for Abilenians.
My hat is off to the Aviators, and I will support them as much as I can.
As far as not wanting the $3 parking is concerned, the only solutions are park at Nelson Park, see if a city bus runs out there or, better yet - stay home! Let the rest of us fans enjoy our hockey.

Gets no respect
The Oct. 14 Abilene Reporter-News article about "Read a Book, Throw a Pie" was disturbing and upsetting.
The decision to do this may have been in good faith, but it needs more thought as to the consequences of disrespect for the faculty. More respect is needed for our faculty, not a pie in the face, even in a gesture of fun.
Surely a gift certificate to a store or restaurant or theater would be more courteous.
A phone call to Lincoln Middle School may let them know of your disapproval.
Respect begets respect.

Angry with jury
I am really upset about the verdict in the Billy Don Williams case. I can't believe that with all the police evidence, not to mention all the eyewitnesses to this mercenary-style execution, the jury could not convict this animal for capital murder.
The folks in the jury are probably the ones crying about all the crime in the city. When they finally get a chance to clean the street of animals like this, they cop out. Maybe the next time it happens, it will be someone close to them! What is really sad is that it is just going to cost us taxpayers more money to put this sick animal in jail.
So to the jury, all I can say is don't complain about the police, crime or higher taxes. It's your fault. If we don't convict animals like this, nothing will change. Thanks again for making my taxes higher.
