Stopping crime
Abilene's William Page, immediate past president of the Abilene Crime Stoppers board, has been named Crime Stoppers Board Member of the Year by the State Crime Stoppers Advisory Council. In typically humble fashion, Page, a retired safety engineer, passed around the credit for his honor to include the rest of the local board and the Abilene Police Department and emphasized that the award actually recognizes the overall excellence of the Crime Stoppers program. All true, but it takes outstanding individuals to make a team effort successful. And for that, Page deserves more attention than he might be willing to give himself. Congratulations for this honor that also does credit to the larger community.
