Thrills and chills tonight

A cold front is moving through — right on time for December’s Artwalk to celebrate the holiday season. Some of us might miss November’s moderate temperatures, but for others, cold weather just makes it easier to get in the Christmas spirit.

Downtown will be filled with music for this evening’s Artwalk. The Grace Museum features a free Family Night performance of the perennial children’s favorite, “Peter and the Wolf,” from 6-8 p.m., with a woodwind quartet from Hardin-Simmons University. Over at the Windsor Hotel’s restored 1920s ballroom, the Abilene Men’s Christmas Chorus will present its 17th annual free Christmas a cappella program at 6:30 p.m. and again at 7:45.

Special displays, activities and sales will light up the entire Artwalk sector. Winners of the City Sidewalks window-decorating contest will be sporting their laurels. Bundle up and get with the spirit, downtown from 5-8:30 p.m.
