Moments of grace
When my sons were the age for Easter egg hunts, not too young
but at the end of that stage of life, we took them to an egg hunt
at a bowling alley that had advertised there would be plastic
eggs that would have money in them.
Well, they looked for about two hours at the hunt. When we
got back in the car, they said in disappointment, "we didn't
find any prize eggs."
At that point I said, "But you did find plenty of candy
eggs didn't you? They were all around."
This was their answer: "We didn't even pick them up because
we wanted the prize ones."
That was quite a while ago. I am now realizing that I don't
want to come to the end of the Easter Egg Hunt of Life and be
disappointed because in looking for the prize egg, I didn't see
the other lovely eggs that were all around.
