Moments of Grace
We have two choices every morning when we wake up. Either we
can try to make it a good day or we can dwell on sad things, get
to feeling sorry for ourselves and have a bad day.
Proverbs 27:1 says, "Thou knoweth not what a day may bring
forth." This is so true. One must have inner peace in his
heart to have complete happiness. This is a gift that God has
for all of us.
John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave
his only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but
have everlasting life."
Psalm 94:4 tells us, "He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge." That is describing
security and gives words of encouragement.
We all have disappointments, crisis, even tragedies. This is
just life, but this need not destroy our faith. In times like
this we need to be much in prayer and take one day at a time.
The shortest road to the mountain top is to count your blessings.
Each day is a gift from God, and we need to start each day with
God.
Call him -- his phone number is Jeremiah 33:3 -- "Call
unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty
things which thou knoweth not."
It has been suggested we give ourselves a pep talk to start
the day. Each morning read out loud three blessings the Lord has
done for you.
"This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and
be glad in it." Expect it to be the best day ever, and it
will be!
Live each day to the fullest. Get the most from each hour,
each day, and each age of your life. Then you can look forward
with confidence, and back without regret.
Don't be afraid to be happy. Enjoy what is beautiful. Love
with all your heart and soul. Believe that those you love, love
you. Forget what you have done for your friends and remember what
they have done for you. Disregard what the world owes you and
concentrate on what you owe the world.
When you are faced with a decision, make that decision as wisely
as possible -- then forget it.
The moment of absolute certainty never arrives, and above all,
remember that God helps those who help themselves. Yesterday is
gone forever, think of it as just a memory or a canceled check.
Tomorrow may never come. God does not promise us a tomorrow,
it is just a hope. All we have for sure is today, so be sure the
make today a Happy Day.
Today has been a beautiful sunny day. I've heard happy birds
singing sweet songs. I've feasted my eyes upon nature's wonders.
I had clothes to wear and food to eat. I'm enjoying a cozy,
comfortable home, and my bills are all paid once again.
I glory in God's unfailing love which is forever on display.
I didn't ask him for these dear blessings, but he showered me
with them anyway.
Praise his holy name! Today has been a Good Day.
