HUMILITY THEOLOGY

From Wall Street to Humility Theology is the story of Sir John Templeton, founder of the Templeton Growth Fund and Templeton World Fund.

Robert L. Herrmann's book traces Templeton's life through his Wall Street success to his devotion to the spiritual development of human beings.

Templeton founded Templeton Growth Fund in 1954, and in 1992, he sold his $25 billion group of Templeton Funds to Franklin Resources Inc. to lead a new life.

"Templeton is creating a legacy that will far outlast the legendary financial program he developed," Herrmann wrote. "This is the development and growth of a new science in which spiritual knowledge is sought by the empirical and statistical methods of science. Templeton calls this 'humility theology science.' "

In 1972 Templeton created the Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion, an annual cash award that exceeds in value the Nobel Prizes and honors individuals making a significant contribution to progress in religion.

In 1987, Queen Elizabeth knighted Sir John Templeton for his philanthropic efforts.

The book was published by Templeton Foundation Press and sells for $19.95 hardcover.
