CD Review

Various artists, "WWJD" -- * * *

Label: Forefront

Description: "WWJD" stands for "What Would Jesus Do?" It's a catchphrase that's riding a wave of popularity among some Christians. In the liner notes, the musicians explain how their songs relate to doing what he did. This album contains 15 songs from mostly well-known Christian rock and alternative rock artists. Most of the songs have an edge, though a couple are mellow.

Artist bio: Bands included are Big Tent Revival, Newsboys, Smalltown Poets, Geoff Moore and the Distance, Rebecca St. James, Bleach, Audio Adrenaline, Considering Lily, Steven Curtis Chapman, The Waiting, Sarah Masen, Grammatrain, Skillet and dc Talk.

What's good about it: Most of the songs are catchy, and there are nice amounts of stylistic variety between the bands.

What's bad about it: If creativity is a raging fire, a couple of these songs are barely smoldering.

Extra: This CD can be played in a computer CD-rom drive. It features the complete NIV Bible for Mac and PC users.
