Test your knowledge of the month's major religious
observances

Think you know all about the major religious observances in
the month of December?
Well, then, which religion observes Dec. 26 as the death of
its prophet? And which one considers Dec. 21 the start of its
new year? Here's a test to see how much you really know -- or
don't know.
There are 10 multiple-choice statements. The correct answers
are at the end. (No peeking.)
With folks of various religions observing important dates this
month, now's a good time to learn a bit about a religion other
than your own. Suggestions for additional learning are noted below.
1. The Christian season of Advent, which began this year on
Nov. 29, lasts for:

the ending of the yin period of the sun in:
