By J.T. SMITH

Farm Editor

SAN ANGELO - The Concho Hereford Association 51st Annual Bull Sale grossed $78,670 at Producers Livestock Auction Co. Monday.

Some 55 bulls averaged $1,430 per bull.

The top-selling bull, "FP Extra," was consigned to the auction by Frank S. Price of Sterling City. The bull only had to make a short trip to its new home as W&W Foster Ranch, also of Sterling City, got the top bid of $2,800.

The second-high bull, "RCR L1 Domino," brought $2,500. It was consigned by the Rocking Chair Ranch of Dallas. Martin Reed of Sterling City got top bid.

W&W Foster Ranch was the volume buyer - getting top bid on four bulls for a collective $7,000.

There were 18 consignors to the auction. Ranches from the Abilene area with cattle in the auction were DJ Hereford Farms, Abilene; MW Hereford Ranch, Brownwood; Pied Piper Farms, Hamlin; and the Brad Stuart ranch of Roby.

Stanley Stout of Linwood, Kan., auctioneered and was assisted by Jim Boyd of the American Hereford Association, Abilene, and Jack Chastain of the Texas Hereford Association, Fort Worth at ringside.
