Of food and dinosaurs on the 'Net
This week we look at some different kinds of food and other
interesting things on the Internet.
-- At first glance, http://www.rawtimes.com/ might sound like
a rather disgusting place on the World Wide Web. When I first
heard about it, I thought it was a sushi page. Actually, it's
not that gross. It's a group of links to resources about raw foods,
but most of them are things like lentil, wheatgrass, mushrooms,
sauerkraut and red clover.
You can hook up with other raw food lovers by email or IRC.
You may find recipes, markets and restaurants that cater to raw
eaters.
I read some of the recipes, and they don't sound that bad.
-- I had a really delicious steak and cheese sandwich at a
local eatery last week, so I thought I search the WWW for a good
recipe. Instead, I stumbled onto "Vegetarian Philadelphia
Cheesesteak. It has Portobello mushrooms, olive oil, onions, bell
peppers, hard cheese and a sandwich roll. The directions are at
http://www.boutell.com/vegetarian/cheesesteak.html/
-- Like those famous chefs and their food? You can find them
and their recipes at http://starchefs.com/
-- If you crave chocolate like the Williamson Family, you'll
OD on The Chocolate Lovers' Page, http://bc.emanon.net/chocolate/
-- Ever play the license plate game on vacation? You know,
you try to see how many different states' license plates you can
spot. Michael Kustermann has taken the game to an extreme. His
http://danshiki.oit.gatech.edu/(tilde)iadt3mk/index.html site
is titled "License Plates of the World." He has collected
images of plate from just about every where.
-- Are you kids into dinosaurs? Dinolinks on the Web may be
found at http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/diapsids/dinolinks.html#dinosites/
