Some tasty sites for the holidays

By Doug Smith / Abilene Reporter-News

It's the holidays and I've found some great sites for you.

-- The best is the Letters to Santa site that the Reporter-News is providing for kiddos. We've discovered Santa's e-mail address and have his permission to let the young ones send their letters there.

Santa promises to personally answer each and every one.

All you have to do is send an e-mail to him by going to http://www.texnews.com/santa.html/. There's a simple form to fill out. Be sure to include your home and e-mail addresses.

-- Tomorrow is Turkey Day and the most traditional site is butterball.com.

It is obviously brought to you by the Butterball Turkey Co. It has the ultimate guide to help you cook your bird, plus recipes for leftovers. Don't miss the "Just for Fun" section with a coloring book, trivia and a Real Audio clip of a real gobbling turkey.

-- While Dad's watching the Cowboys and Oilers and Aggies and Horns this weekend, the kids might visit a Thanksgiving crafts page at http://craftsforkids.miningco.com/msub13.htm/.

They can also download some coloring book pages at http://www.racersworld.com/@deb/tg/tg_coloring.html/.

-- How did Thanksgiving start? A scholarly account may be found at the (text only) http://www.freenet.hamilton.on.ca/@ai730/story.htm/.
