New businesses in town...

-- Texas Steak Express has opened a dine-out location at 3354
Rebecca Lane.
Owner Kyle Walker said the concept is the first of its kind.
He combines his experience at 11 steakhouses in North and South
Carolina with the convenience of pizza delivery.
Texas Steak Express delivers steak, grilled chicken, burgers,
salads and baked potatoes to homes and businesses from 10:30 a.m.-10
p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 10:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The phone number for the eatery is 793-2828.
-- Terrie Hutcheson has opened The Station Break at 2301 S.
Willis.
The shop has Southwestern gifts and accessories.
Hours of operation are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The phone
is 690-1275.
In other business news...
-- The Adam Corporation/Group has signed a definitive agreement
to purchase the $62 million Austin National Bank. The transaction
should be completed by the second quarter 1998.
The Adam Corporation/Group also owns First American Bank Texas,
SSB. The bank has 60 branches, some of which are in the Big Country.
-- Payless Cashways Inc., with a location in Abilene, has emerged
from Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in less than five months.
The company filed a voluntary petition on July 21 to facilitate
financial restructuring for the reduction of heavy debt.
