Promotions
Gregory S. McDonald has been promoted to associate manager
in the Abilene office of American General Life & Accident
Insurance Co., 500 Chestnut, Suite 801.
McDonald, who resides and works in the Wichita Falls area,
joined American General in 1996.

Phil Harris of Merrill Lynch recently completed a one-week
professional development course at corporate headquarters in Princeton,
N.J.

Dell Toelkes of Covenant Communities Partners Ltd. in Austin
has been named regional general manager for West Central Texas,
including the 72-home Hillcrest project in Colorado City.
His primary responsibility will be working with communities
to solve affordable housing needs.
Toelkes, a 10-year veteran of the home-construction industry,
has bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas A&M University.

Christian Homes of Abilene is featured in the August issue
of <I>Marie Claire<I>, a national magazine of fashion,
career and current social issues.
The magazine highlights three women who spent time at the Christian
Homes maternity home. The story follows the women through their
pregnancies as they make adoption plans for their children.

Dr. Anton Melnyk, an oncologist with Texas Cancer Center, Abilene/South,
spoke Thursday to the Senior Partners group of Abilene Regional
Medical Center. He discussed the new center facility and its impact
on cancer patients in the region.

Toby Dagenhart, executive producer of KRBC-TV, has been appointed
assignment editor at the station.
He is a graduate of Andrews High and Angelo State University.
Formerly, he worked for KLST in San Angelo and KCEN in Waco.

Leroy Bolt, a CPA, partner and head of the estate and trust
department at Condley and Co. L.L.P. in Abilene, has been appointed
to the executive committee of the Texas Society of Certified Public
Accountants.
Honors
Melvin Mosher of Clyde, a driver with National Carriers Inc.
of Liberal, Kan., has just completed three years of safe driving.

Floyd Miller, past president of the Abilene Black Chamber of
Commerce, was recently honored with a reception. He has completed
three years of outstanding service, leading the local business
organization.
Miller, a financial advisor, will continue to serve on the
group's board of directors and will chair its marketing committee.
Neomia Banks, a local State Farm Insurance agent, is the new
president of the Black Chamber.
